When trying to place a call my Samsung S20FE 5G, I get the message:

"Your phone registered on network, so you can only make emergency calls."

In settings-Connections the option of WiFi calling is not offered. My phone has the latest software and I've tried:

  • Most all of the solutions on the internet,
  • I've been to the AT&T Stores three (3)times.
  • I've talked for endless hours with AT&T support including "Advanced Tech"
  • I’ve talked to Samsung Support and the phone is listed on devices that support WiFi Calling

Nothing

The Wi-Fi option is not offered on my

·       PHONE: Samsung S20FE 5G

·       MODEL:  SM-G781U1/DS

SOFTWARE

·       Android 12

·       Last update 11/18/2022 @ 4:57

I live in a remote area with wifi so wifi calling is essential for communication and safety.  At the moment, I'm using Google Voice which is very limited.

This is Samsung Members Canada.

While the Canadian & US device has identical hardware, Carrier programs are different, especially with AT&T.

Try contacting AT&T customer service directly again, or Samsung Members US.

Hi, we would like to inform you that we cannot confirm the functionality of non-Canadian device.

You need to contact the US support for information on this, so that they will help you further.

Here's is my experience in Canada on Canada version phones.

Sim 1 purchased in 2015 wifi calling was on my iPhone 9 do I turned it on . Not sure if I received a carrier verification or not. My plan is month to month prepaid .

This sim did wifi calling perfectly first on iPhone 9, then I inserted into S7 Canada ver did it there too

S9 Canada ver. Worked fine there too

The setting on my SS galaxy phones was not where the internet said it was, (internet says even non Canada people in this SS members forum, ) said it was under connections wifi it was NOT there. Many claimed it would appear there after:

phone factory reset

Airplane mode on , insert sim , take out reboot

All kinds on nonsense sadistic people telling innocents to do. It's all lies as far as Canada version is concerned.

The setting is NOT where they say it is. No amount of thier instructions will work . You're looking in the WRONG SPOT.

The RIGHT Spot :

1) From the main phone home screen.

2) Open your phone dialer as if to make a call ,

3) click the menu in that usually top right

4) look for wifi calling (it's a left to right toggle)

5) Slide it right worked 100% on sim 1 on G S7 , S9 no extra steps

On Sim 2 a annual prepaid .
Same steps as above , plus:

Running on a :

Samsung Galaxy S20FE 5G Canada version.

ALL CANADA carriers use the same model.

If it sends you a shade message to enable wifi calling
Says its disabled when you slide to enable in eame spot .
(Thats what happens on SiM 2 same carrier annual prepaid plan )

I logged into my carrier account enabled wifi calling.

Then I noticed the shade message had a link . Since my carrier like most Canadian carriers offers more than 1 brand (Rogers fido chatr for example) both my carriers brand logos were displayed. I clicked the brand I'm on logged in and it auto took me to wifi calling page on carrier account. I scrolled the tos writing to bottom clicked the checkmark box . Then hit enable wifi calling button on CARRIER account login page .

Got a text saying wifi calling enabled .

And it was .

Spent way too many hours reading and trying all but remove sim and reset to factory entire phone. After a few minutes I realised these were lies by unhelpful people .

Used my common sense and found it myself ( samsung search on phone didn't help since its not in settings in the gear icon )

I'm writing this to help others .

S9 and lower not so many steps , s10 and 20, 21, 22 the extra steps.

You don't need to restart phone , mess with sim card, disable wifi or enable Airplane mode . You simply need to toggle on in the phone dialer. Then make sure it's enabled in your carrier account. You also do not need to call your carrier .

I hope that helps others and thank you samsung for being a stand up guy and enabling the bp and ecg features in watch 2 active even though it took you 1-2 years longer for Canada than it did for everywhere else in the G7 countries. I am now considering buying a new watch . Though I don't like, that all my 100+ purchased watch faces won't carry over .

I'm considering a new samsung galaxy S-watch. Is what I meant. Since they finally released the features promised when I bought Active 2. However I'm still skeptical as to if a new watch will have all features promised. I feel that 02 blood oxygen feature is now missing in watch active 2 , and why is temp not active?

Honestly, couldn't read your entire first post.. it was pretty incoherent.. And really nothing to do with the original poster's question.

Yeah sure pal. Makes perfect sense, maybe your attention span or comprehension level is below par.

Enjoy wasting your time replying like a tween. I'll simplify for you .

1 have 2 samsung phones active
S9 and s20fe

Got that?

In Canada software the setting for wifi calling is

Not where the internet posters say.

It is in the phone dialer app itself .

There kept it Twitter size for you. Enjoy your childhood

Thanks for your "invaluable contribution".

Relying on "Internet posters", says more about you, than your painfully, meandering OP.

Remarkable how devious Samsung, was in hiding WiFi Calling settings in the phone's Dialer, unexpected even, since most people use the phone Dialer to call people, whether using the Cellular Network, or WiFi.. 🙄
