This appears as a notification each time I start the phone.

Due to Oculus ending its technical support, the Gear VR service is no longer available for One UI 4. Please remove the Gear VR apps.

If I tap the notification, the following appears:

Due to Oculus ending its technical support, the Gear VR service is no longer available for One UI 4.
Click the button below and follow the instructions to remove the Gear VR apps installed on your device.
Thank you for using Gear VR

I am unable to find any Gear VR apps or services.  I'm not about to click buttons just because a notification says to.

Where can I find further information about this?

Best Regards,

—BurtonC

In order to see Gear VR, you have to go to Settings > Apps & Middle Right Click on the 3 dot menu & "Show System Apps".

You should then see the Gear VR app. You can't uninstall it, but select the Gear VR app > Force Stop/ Disable. To also disabnle the notifications from the app, go to Settings > Apps > Menu (3 dots) > Notifications > Deselect the required options.

See if that works for you.

Thanks RDR. I followed the steps above but the "disable" button is greyed out and can't be selected. Any ideas?

Hi.   I don't see what you mean by "middle right click" but I do have 3 options from the 3 dots.  Still, none refer to "all apps" and I can't find Gear anywhere from this route.  Help?

In the 1st screen shot, the red outlined area is what will be the 3 dot menu, on my device it looks different because of the Theme I'm running.

It's not "all apps", but "system apps". Toggle to the Right in the 2nd screen shot & then "OK". Now search for "gear", and you should find it.

Disable is greyed out for me and the notifications are locked to on 🤔 Are there any other workarounds please?

I have a Galaxy S10E and neither Gear VR or Oculus are installed when I review the system apps as suggested. There are no apps shown as requesting to use VR under VR Helper Services. Still, I get the same notification to uninstall Gear VR each day when the phone restarts.

Hi GlennC, Please backup the phone data and perform factory reset then check if you still get a notification about Gear VR when phone restarts. Please keep us posted.
