So, I've had this phone for two years, and I got a new screen protector recently, so I can see clearly through it unlike the super scratched old one. I am now able to see the outline of the in display fingerprint sensor under direct sunlight. Is this normal??
I've had issues with the sensor before, where it stopped reading for a few months but worked when I re-registered my fingerprint in safe mode.

It is normal to see the fingerprint sensor under direct sunlight. I remembered someone asked this question since S21 or S22 when they saw the sensor under sunlight.

Hi Gulf_,

It’s perfectly normal to notice the outline of the in-display fingerprint sensor under certain conditions, such as direct sunlight or with a clear screen protector. This is due to the technology used in ultrasonic or optical fingerprint sensors, which are embedded under the display.

As for the temporary issues you experienced with the sensor, we're glad to hear that re-registering your fingerprint in Safe Mode resolved it. For optimal performance of the in-display fingerprint sensor, we recommend the following:

Ensure your screen protector is designed to be compatible with in-display fingerprint technology.

Keep the screen and the fingerprint sensor area clean and free of smudges or residue.

Regularly update your device software to benefit from performance enhancements.

Thank you.
