I have an S21 Ultra that keeps on randomly restarting.

A little back story, I dropped my phone on the 7th of December 2023, the screen did not crack but the LCD was damaged, with pixels being affected at the battery notification area and another area like 3cm below the top - The damaged pixel area is roughly 0.5mm wide x 4mm long, and the upper damaged pixels are now covered by the black liquid.

Towards the end of January 2024, a few days after the big update, my phone experienced the restart issue for the first time. It froze first and then restarted, the problem was initially not that bad but as time went on, the restarts started to happen more frequently. Randomly, as soon as any app is opened, the screen goes black and the phone restarts - Sometimes it gets stuck in the booting loop and eventually comes on or shuts down.

I did run the Samsung diagnostic tool and it has picked up a weak battery, which I am not sure is the possible cause.

Attempted Fixes:

  1. Clear phone cache.
  2. Factory reset.
  3. Deleted all apps.
  4. Updated all apps and software to latest - OS and Android.

I am under the impression that the issue is software related, as it most frequently restarts when opening an app - mostly the camera app, but any app can cause the restart. It was initially fine for like 24 hours after the first factory reset, but then immediately started again, once I downloaded the apps that were deleted. I did a second factory reset and it continuously restarted without even downloading the any of the apps again.

Currently, it is fine for hours on end, then goes off and comes on immediately. However, it sometimes still gets stuck in the boot loop. So, it seems like it is too inconsistent to be a hardware issue.

Before changing my battery and lcd, is there possibly another fix I can try?

In my opinion, the only solution is to bring your phone to the nearest Samsung Service Center. For further and indeep checking.

This issue seems to be a manufacturer fault, as it seems many of these s21 ultras experience the same issue. I have now had three different s21 ultra handsets, as i keep returning them to the store with the same issue of being stuck in a boot loop. The first s21 ultra hand set i had only lasted 1 week before it started the boot loop and i did everything recommended but it didn't help. The second handset did not even last 3 days as it started its boot loop as well. The third handset is better, it lasted two months then it fell into a boot loop, however after i did a factory reset it worked well for 3 months then fell into a boot loop again. i have just done another factory reset but it did not even last 2 hours before falling into a boot loop again. And Samsung seem to not have a fix for this except replacing handset

That's very funny because my s21 ultra exynos keeps restarting continuously too and enters a boot loop, every time I try to boot it and it sees Samsung logo for more than 5 seconds it just shuts off again. I tried everything you tried except I haven't even dropped the *** phone. Such an unreliable waste of money.

I am also facing the same issue now. It started after I dropped my phone. I also did factory reset and everything and after that also randomly it will restart or when I open some app there is a chance it will restart. What did you do to fix this issue?
