Galaxy SI've been having very poor signal reception since the December 2024 update. At first I shrugged it off as I was in vacation in another province, and I assumed it the Bell towers where I'm at. However, when I got back home, the signal reception was still very poo, and after a week of trying to find a solution, I ultimately ended up at a Samsung store. They said there has been damage to the motherboard, and replacing the motherboard would cost 675 CAD, which I'm refusing to pay as it's due to Samsung's screw up. I tried out different SIMs in my phone, and none of them worked. I also tried putting my SIM in my friends' phones, and it worked fine there.
From what I'm seeing on the r/S22Ultra and r/Samsung subreddits, people seem to either have their phones bricked, or they're experiencing trouble with signal after the update, so the problem has been very common right after the update. In other regions, people are even having their motherboards get replaced free of charge, but I had no luck arguing my way to a free motherboard replacement.
I'm wondering if any of you are having the same problem, and if you guys figured things out?

Galaxy SI think that the motherboards are the same, with the exception of the Chipset.

Galaxy SIf samsung really wants to give all their customers a solid, using the 30 day storage option they should setup a 1 click using smart switch for the phone to backup the everything from the phone, automatically restart it and restore everything without the user needing to do anything after hitting start. Samsung should take the time to setup the program so things like WhatsApp and others don't need to be backed up and restored separately.
It would solve customers needing to go to the store and being told it's a motherboard issue.
My brother got a new phone and plan with another carrier. I'm going to be talking to a lawyer about this since he needs to pay out his old contract and phone. This should never have happened. Even if it turned out it is a hardware issue, this option should be used first if the phone isn't in warranty like our 22 ultra. I stopped using Samsung because my phones screen overheated and they said it was damage that wasn't covered even though phones were melting and catching fire.
It's a shame because I wanted to buy a fold instead of a duo 2. Having a dual boot windows and android is very useful.
Having a physical keyboard would be really nice but obviously they don't cater to disabled people with low site issues anymore. I'm using a tap system and modified ar with a mini PC until something made for the disabled comes out.
Im the meantime I need to get this phone corrected so his daughter can use it or possibly sell it to make the money back on it to pay out the phone and contract charges. Very disappointed that their repair shops didn't mention this software issue as a possibility of what is causing the problem but it seems like previous models, they are using customers as guinea pigs and say we will make sure it doesn't happen in the next model leaving customers having a bad phone that cost $1000
