S24+ stopped fast charging

Hi! A couple days ago, my Samsung S24+ stopped fast charging. I had my device since February 2024.

I noticed some S24 users in the forums were experiencing the same.

Here's what I've done so far:

- checked the cables and the adapter (can fast charge my Samsung S20 FE, it charges my Tab S6 lite, and charges Apple products with no problem)

- checked if software update (it's up to date)

- cleaned the USB port

- restarted and turned on/off the device

- cleared the cache in USBSettings

Any other suggestions to help with this?

Sorry to hear this issue from you and appreciate your efforts in trying all the possible troubleshooting steps. 

Open the Samsung Members app and Click on Support > Phone Diagnostics & run the Diagnostics for Cable Charging. See if you get any error messages?

I only get Charge Speed: Normal (see screenshot). The other picture is an older S20 FE with the same cable and adapter. You can see that the charge speed is Super Fast.

Can you please check again if the fast charging is enabled: Go to Settings > Tap Battery > Tap Charging settings > Tap Fast charging.

To ensure you maximize charging efficiency, turn your device screen off. While the phone is charging, a lightning symbol will display on the cover screen.

Yes, fast charging is enabled in the settings and fast charging is still not working.

Where did you get your USB-C cable from?

What is the make and model and sales source?
Was there specific information labeled for that USB-C cable ans can you still reference that?!

Not all USB-C cables are.made the same EVEN for charging vs data throughput each are individual from one another.

Cables:

• UGREEN USB-C 240 W x2
• Stock Samsung USB-C (from S24+)
• Stock Apple USB-C (from iPhone 15 Pro Max)

Adapter

• UGREEN Nexode 45 W USB-C (2 ports) AC Adapter
• an LG Gram USB-C laptop charger (it's connected directly to the adapter, max 240 W)
• Stock Samsung USB charger  15W from another Samsung device

As noted above, the USB-C and adapter combo that allows 45 W charging (both the UGREEN and the LG laptop charger) worked well until a couple of days ago. The combo still works for the S20 FE fast charging (25 W).
