Hello everyone, I went to San Jose California USA 2 weeks ago, and I bought my S24 Ultra when it released on January 31st 2024. Then I came back to Canada. Everything was going well, until I start adding my credit cards on Samsung wallet (I used to use the same credit cards on my old S23 Ultra).

Anyway, while entering my card information, it ask me to enter my zip code, then automatically it open up the number keywords. But In Canada, the zip code are mixed letters and numbers, so I couldn't add my zip code that associated with my credit card. (No option to enter any letters)

Then, I contact Samsung canada customer service, she said that Samsung USA phones not compatible with Canada and I need to return my phone and buy a new phone that compatible with canada !!!!!!!

I said, that doesn't make sense. What if i travel to a new country next month, should I buy a new phone in every country!!! She didn't give me a solution.

I tried to enter a random numbers as a zip code, but it got reject because I have to enter the zip code that is associated with my credit card. (That mixed letters and numbers)

Long story short, I want to be able to enter mixed letters and numbers in my zip code section, so I can add my credit card to my Samsung wallet.

Here is a video attached and some screenshot from the chat with Samsung canada customer service.

Very simple issue, and very simple solution I guess, but they ask me to pay few hundreds dollars to ship my phone back to USA and buy new canada phone. What a joke in 2024.

You can go to wallet app - settings - import export pass data. Then you can export file and you can create a password so it is secure. Once you reinstall the app then you can recover all your pass data(saved password) from that export file and even you can even sync your pass data online on Samsung account so if you ever lost your device you can recover it from online.

This is not a solution. It is like you says that I can just use my physical card instead.

It is a software bug. Easy fix for sure.

Thanks for your feedback anyway 😀
I appreciate your help.

Hope if Samsung fix it. Just to make the whole keyboard pop up, not only numbers keyboard

You would need to switch your region to Canada in order for this to work. Because you bought your phone in the US, it thinks that you live there so you will have everything to be compatible with US settings. You need to head over to settings and find Samsung Account, then tap Profile region to change the region on your phone.

You might have tried this already, anyways if you have not, try the numbers on ur postal with two zeros at the end or put in the zip code from where you bought the phone from in US. See if it works

I tried, but the credit card has the postal code as verification. It should match the real postal code

I do have a US note 20 and have no issues adding canadian CC. The verificarion process is done by the bank and not Samsung. It did hapoen to My cibc cc and i called the bank and they added it
