I'm facing on-and-off issues with my Galaxy S25 Ultra. While making WhatsApp calls, if the phone is locked, the microphone doesn't work, especially when connected to Galaxy Buds. This happens even when my screen is off. How can I prevent this? WhatsApp requires me to keep the app open during calls; if I lock or minimize it, the microphone stops working.

Has WhatsApp been updated to support One UI V7.0?

I don't know if it's an issue with your device, or WhatsApp.. but apparently Samsung will be pushing a rather large update for One UI V7.0 fairly soon?

Hi MdGalaxy,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We understand how important it is for WhatsApp to work smoothly, especially during calls, and we want to help resolve the issue you're experiencing with your Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Please make sure you have the latest WhatsApp version. Sometimes bugs related to system updates are fixed in app updates.
Go to the Google Play Store → My apps & games → Check if WhatsApp has an update available.

Sometimes clearing the cache can resolve temporary bugs caused by system updates.
Go to Settings → Apps → WhatsApp → Storage → Clear Cache.
If the problem persists, you can also try Clear Data (but note that this will log you out and delete your local data).

Allow Background Activity for WhatsApp: Settings → Apps → WhatsApp. Tap Battery → Enable "Allow background activity"

Check Microphone Permissions: Settings → Apps → WhatsApp Permissions → Microphone. Select "Allow all the time"

Did you send an Error Report to Samsung?

It's also possible that there's some issues with One UI V7.0, which should be fixed in the next update..

Last night I spoke to customer support regarding this issue; however, they did not know what the issue was, so they asked me to go to a service center.

There's also Diagnostics on the Samsung Members app.. Click on Support & Phone Diagnostics. It could give you some idea of what the issue might be.

Uh oh... I just did a WhatsApp call and the other side could not hear me half the time. I was also using Galaxy Buds3 Pro 😮
