I am new to this forum and seemingly everybody is very helpful, for almost a year now the camera is crashing and freezing my phone. This happens when i use certain modes like pro mode and selfie mode. This started happening more and more often, It literally just freezes my phone and a weird checkered pattern appears as a line on the screen, to get out i just go into recovery mode and then reboot. I dont use the camera a lot but when i do want to use it its disappointing to have it freeze my phone like that. I would really appreciate some help or an answer to why its happening so i can try to fix it

@Avaooft23, Welcome to the Samsung Members Forum. It may be a software issue that is causing the problem with your camera. A suggestion would be to back up all of your files and information to a personal computer and do a factory reset of the phone. That should reset the camera.

sadly i have already tried that, it did work for about a week but after that it just got worse

@Avaooft23, You may have to send your phone to a certified Samsung Repair Center for diagnostics and if needed a software re-install.

i will probably do that as a last resort. i will keep this open in case there is any chance of a fix

Since you already tried a Factory Reset - You could always download the Stock Samsung Firmware from sammobile.com & Flash it with Odin 3.13.1 - I know from past experience that this can resolve many issues that a Factory Reset doesn't.. 🐧

i am a bit of a new person to flashing, will this work if i flash anything or just the samsung firmware?

'Checkered Pattern' appearing is a huge hint that there's a problem with the Camera hardware.
It happened to me once on a different phone. I had to change the camera ribbon from a repair shop. I think this is also your issue. You must go to the repair shop.

i probably will go. i realized how a few times without the camera my phone froze with that checkered pattern on the screen, that happened when i exited the camera and started closing applications.

Hey @Avaooft23, since you already tried a factory reset and that didn't help, the next step is to take it in to a Service Center as it will be much easier to diagnose the problem if the device can be physically inspected.
