Samsung s20/Telus sim signal is crap

this is a constant battle. new phone. new sim. works fairly well at home but if its gonna have calls where i can hear people clear and they can't hear me, what the hell. I place blame on samsung. So my phone will be 2 bars - 118db in the middle of a field. Indoors at work it won't even fuking work. 

5G with 3 bars but still terrible signal.

coworker has a note 9, same shit. OTHER coworker is not on samsung, no problem. 

so what the hell? i want answers

Hi, could you verify if the SIM card is installed correctly and is not damaged? You can contact your carrier for assistance with testing the SIM. Alternatively, if you have another phone that works with the same carrier, try inserting the SIM card into that phone and test it if there is proper signal strength. If it does, you may need to get a replacement SIM card from your carrier.
