Galaxy SThe battery on my Galaxy S8 PLUS has suddenly got hot and swollen and caused screen damage and the back to partially separate from the phone. The phone is 2ish years old. I've heard that Samsung would replace a swollen phone regardless if the warranty is up because the battery is faulty. How do I go about that ? Will Samsung do something about the damage caused by their faulty batteries?
I check with Samsung repair and the quote is $430. jeez, does a flagship phone only last 2 years now?
I was a life time user for Samsung phones and recommended my family to buy Samsung phones, but this S8 PLUS gives me concern. I was really careful with it and I only used the Samsung charger but it drains 20% battery overnight just sitting there with GPS/bluetooth etc turned off; when I check online a lot of people say their S8 does that. But now it swells up, the battery sure seems to be faulty. I have posted my pictures to several media to get opinions, and here they are:

Galaxy SI have the same issue with my S8, 3.5yrs old. Very dissappointed, and shocked. My old S4Note, still a champ. I, clearly, also rec'd a subpar battery, during that "bad time" with S batteries. Seems they'd provide some credit toward a fixed device.

Galaxy SI had this just happen to my S8, but I have found on Amazon a lot of repair kits with batteries for under twenty dollars. So it's reparable for cheap. It includes adhesive and tools. I think this is happening because you might be charging the phone while it's still in a case. I think that is what happened to me. I have a rather heavy durable case and I think that the heat normally created in the battery was not properly dissipating. When I get this fixed, I'm going to take it out of the case when it is charging. I am personally not worried about it catching on fire or exploding, because it is getting plenty of ventilation now and it stays very cool. These are also supposed to be waterproof and so there is no ventilation; and there is heat generated when charging.

Galaxy SSame here in the United States with my Samsung Galaxy S8 the back started the crack spontaneously right in The Battery area and the adhesive started coming up on the sides and the bottom so I lifted up the bottom of the phone which does not violate any of the warranty because if it's already open then how is it a violation? Samsung refuses to acknowledge the S8 battery issues and I have pictures just like you to prove that separation of adhesive and where the crack started and there's no crack at the bottom just crack where the battery is going all the way up. I open the bottom up and took pictures and what did I find but missing screws where the battery should be held in. I had someone with an S 21 Ultra take pictures for me of what was inside and the battery was swollen and the date on it is 6/28/2018. Now this occurred not even a year after having the phone. It was just out of warranty but still if you're going to be not including all of the parts within the inside of the phone how does that not qualify for them to replace it? I have left it alone and removed everything off of it and just bought an iPhone. That is how mad I was. I'm sure no moderator or Samsung representative will even respond to my comment along with yours. They don't care it's all about money. The front glass is fine and has no cracks whatsoever but the fact that's a battery swole up so much that it caused the back cover to crack in such a way that gave me the black screen of death. To make it work to get everything off of it before it exploded on me I had to tape it with clear Scotch tape on the outside and keep it charged for 8 hours praying it would not explode on me. I just don't understand why they will not acknowledge thousands and thousands of people who has the same issues around the world with their phone. The battery actually is the original battery that came with the phone because it has the imei number located on the battery with a sticker and a date. They do not take people or their lives our hard-earned money to buy their product into consideration at all. Unless it kills them but then what's the point? So I agree with you 100%. I hope they at least gave you some remedy if not just go to iPhone or they have other Androids that are just as good. Samsung needs to realize they're not the only brand on the market now. They claim to have the best this and that but then when you open it up and it's missing parts come on now that is some messed-up work. And the pass it off to the consumer and act like it's our fault and not take responsibility for their actions is unacceptable.

Galaxy SMy galaxy s8 active AND my galaxy s10e BOTH look exactly like yours. It's ridiculous. Not only is every case like this a public safety concern but they also dragging feet so they don't have to fix anything. I think we should get a group of us together and CLASS ACTION tf out of this.
I guarantee if someome could just get the initial class action opened, it would end up being MASSIVE.
