Galaxy Sthat's not how Thermal Guardian works
so i will tell you something, every modern System on Chip (SoC) has peak temperature, let's say Snapdragon 8 Elite since this one is the most powerful SoC for Android for the moment, i believe this one has peak temperature around of 60+ ℃, but every phone manufacturer try their best to limit their SoC heat by around 50℃. By the help from Thermal Guardian Thermal Threshold you already reduced the heat peak by 1℃ so your maximum SoC heat will be 49℃. Then why there is dotted line? it's because whenever your SoC temperature passed that dotted line, the system will throttle your SoC clock speed. That doesn't mean your SoC temperature can't pass that dotted line, it can but with reduced SoC clock speed.
Also don't say "it doesn't work", try compare with another 15 mins playtime of Genshin Impact while you increase Thermal Threshold by 1℃, see the difference by yourself.
Anyway there's no official word from Qualcomm what is the peak temperature of Snapdragon 8 Elite before it starting to melt, but i am pretty sure with today's advanced cooling system then there won't be any melted SoC even if you play Genshin Impact in the middle of Sahara desert. So with the help Thermal Guardian, it can reduce SoC temperature up to 2℃ which not a lot but can increase the chance of your phone to last as long as possible from heat.

Galaxy Strue LMAO, i don't get it how people's thinking, any smarphone can't break not even its screen or battery, i know it's really frustrate anyone who got lighsaber just because 2 years of usage, the funny thing everyone is ok to maintenance their motorcycle or car like each 3 months or so, such as changing the oil, or modify their driver vehicle, or extend their license period each 5 years, or replace the accubattery
but everyone lost their mind when their phone got lightsaber, like it's end of the world!
