Just a thought that I had today. I wish Samsung didn't remove it. I felt like it was more secure than the 2d face scanning that the following phones have.

to each there own. I would think face unlock would run into issues while wearing a mask! I feel irius scaner performance would be just fine. masks won't cover your eyes and block the irius. i definitely see your point as well. in the Context of mask wearing during the pandemic. irius scaner would be faster to unlock and likely more sanitarie.

Samsung prioritized the bezelless infinity o look over a notch, or a large top bezel. I personally don't miss it. Sure, it was cool, but it was too slow for me.

I definitely love the note 10 plus! I was also very hesitate of the cut out styles that were in prior devices before the note 10. I hated the astedics of them. the infininty o style in the note 10 is great tho. I would personally prefer a front camera under the display myself. I found even the note 8 the front camera was less intrusive. I don't think any cut out ive seen thus far is free from bugs. in landscape mode especially. certainly looking forward to future device design in the front cut out areas.

now that half of our face are covered 95% of the time ...I am grateful for that iris scanner on my note 9

Knowing that if I upgrade to a new phone ill lose the iris scanner is one of the main reasons I don't want to upgrade. I do a lot of metal casting and machining so frequently my fingerprint will either get burned off or temporarily disfigured enough that fingerprint sensors only work for me like 50% of the time. I refuse to use the face scanning because of how in insecure it is, because my friend with a completely different face structure to me, along with different eye and hair color can unlock my phone with the face scanner.

Iris scan is a really useful feature. It is safe and unlocks the phone in 1 second under any conditions. Face recognition is not very safe and not working when you wear mask. Fingerprint scanner in s9 is absolutely useless. About 70% of the times I tried to use it it didn't work. Maybe it's my fingerprints that get damaged due to my work but it just doesn't work for me. Tried different fingers, erased the fingerprints and added new but nothing changed. So I just don't use it.

And I also have to add that we don't care about bezeless phones and big screens. We prefer a phone with bezels with iris scan AND with the led notification light that is sooooo useful. These things make the phone a real tool when you need it and not some random high-tech wanna be device that tries to compete with others.

Come on,it's samsung after all. It IS at the top anyway. Just bring back the tools we need.

Thank you.

I hate the fact that Samsung is no longer coming with the iris scanner, and it was one of the most amazing thing about the phone.it was so accurate and amazing I could always bet on it.

I just stumble onto this thread, same opinion here, Samsung please bring back the iris scanner. I did not upgrade from the Note 9 and S9+ due to the iris scanner and both of those phone are getting old. My wife even downgraded from the S10+ back to the S9+ for the iris scanner.

The greatest omissions of all Galaxy omissions!

Let's just name a few: heart beat and oxygen sensor, variable aperture, curved screens...

Galaxy phones used to be close to iPhone, but since S20, they are just too far behind... Nothing more than an average VERY BORING brick.

I know I'm late, but the frustration of not having the iris scanner, good facial (iPhone is now 10x above) and fingerprint recognition is what led me here.  At one point Samsung became the cell phone leader, but now they're falling behind.  I just don't understand why Samsung would remove great features (like Iris Scanner, a removable battery, SD card, included charger, etc.) that set their phones above iPhone and others.  Oh wait, I take that back... I do understand it's about $$$.  Samsung feels that, if iPhone customers are stupid enough to keep buying iPhones even after they remove features and charge more, then let's see if Samsung customers are stupid enough to accept it.  I swore I wouldn't upgrade for  10 yrs after my S8, but then 5G came out, and so Note 10-5G I got.  Dropped that in a water, so S22 Ultra I got (camera aside, not as good as the Note 10).  If Samsung wants to keep copying iPhone practices that Stink, we should just buy iPhones!
