Wifi call is draining my battery even after disabling it. I tried everything, including reseting all my setting, wipe cache, factory reset. Even on safe mode it's killing my battery. This started since I updated to one ui 4 and now it's too late to revert to one ui 3. Any help is appreciated.

It's really unlikely to be an issue with the phone's WiFi calling, maybe reset your WiFi network at home & test again.

I've had almost 6 hour long WiFi calls & never saw that kind of battery usage.

Seeing as how you've already reset your device's settings & Factory Reset, that's pretty much the only thing I can think of.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried that already without success. I don't understand why it's even a battery drain despite being disabled. I am not even using it.

Wifi calling is Toggled OFF in the Dialer's Settings?

In my screen shot it's Toggled ON, but did you check there as well?

Yes I did checked there. It was off. I never use that feature so that's why I don't understand what's causing this problem. Some kind of bug with my phone and android 12. I miss the old days with custom os that would always be there as last resort.

Hi Covis , We suggest you to follow the below steps and see if it works. On the Settings screen, tap Battery and device care → Optimize now. The quick optimization feature improves device performance through the following actions.

• Closing apps running in the background.

• Managing abnormal battery usage.

• Scanning for crashed apps and malware.

Using the auto optimization feature. You can set the device to perform auto optimization when your device is not in use. Tap on three vertical black dots → Automation → Auto optimize daily and tap the switch to activate it. If you want to set the time to perform auto optimization, tap Time.

Yeah, I don't think that it's an "Optimization" issue, WiFi Calling on standby shouldn't even be noticed by the battery usage, unless there's a hardware issue with the device's WiFi antenna, but then you'd expect to see poor WiFi connectivity etc.

It could be their Home WiFi network & the phone is struggling to maintain a connection.

Actually, they could use the Diagnostics on the Samsung Members app to check the WiFi on their phone?

It seems like if I stay home all day and on my wifi then the feature is not killing my phone but when I go to work and spend all day outside on mobile network, even just on stand by, then it's draining it. I used the diagnostic tool but didn't find any problem.

When you are away from your home WiFi, is your WiFi able to connect with public WiFi, ie: Tim Hornton etc?

It's possible that if your WiFi is always "hunting" for a connection, that could be the issue?

If you know that you won't be connected to a WiFi network, try Toggling Off WiFi Calling & see if you notice any difference?

Thank you for you reply. This was some of my first step. It didn't help the problem unfortunately.
