Really miss this feature. It was the main reason I always chose Samsung phones over IPhone. Haven't upgraded my phone because of the change. I know I will have to eventually...but when Samsung took away that feature, I just don't see much of an advantage over an iPhone now. Please Samsung, bring back this user friendly feature!!!

Yup, I agree 100%

Yes you can get a device with more internal storage than you will likely ever need.

Yes you can backup your device to your Cloud account.

Yes you can use an OTG device.

Yes, SD cards are slower than the internal storage.

Yes micro sd cards can fail.

BUT, the ONLY reason I am still using my S20 Ultra, is BECAUSE it has the micro sd card.

More internal storage, still doesn't allow you to backup your device with Smart Switch, without using your computer, or OTG device.

Cloud accounts are not as secure as what is physically in your phone. Cloud access may not always be available. Cloud storage can be expensive.

IF, for whatever reason, you need to restore a recent backup, you may not have access to the Cloud, may not have your OTG device handy, or access to your computer.

I don't run any apps from the external sd card, so speed isn't really an issue at all.

Getting a new device that has the micro sd card slot, and transferring from your old phone, is faster and more convenient than restoring from Your Cloud account or OTG, or computer.

Purchasing a 1TB micro sd card, is also MUCH cheaper than buying that amount of internal storage.

Samsung doesn't really have an argument, if they say it is because of ip68 ratings, as long as there is a physical SIM. Maybe they will go to e-SIM entirely, but they aren't there yet.

I probably missed some of my points, and probably didn't address the counter views completely, but that's just my opinion.

I'm still holding on to my S20+ for this exact reason! Bring back the SD Card!

You might find that your going to be limited to Samsung's budget phones, or another brand altogether.

I really hope that Samsung rethinks the sd card slot. They have once before.

I agree Bring back the sd card samsung ! I'm looking for a phone now and if I buy Samsung it will be A54 just for the reason it still has an sd card slot.

I just purchased the S23, which replaced my old S8. Very excited until I realized that the SD card was not an option anymore. Not sure why they would do this, since it was always one of the reasons why I preferred Samsung over Apple. I'd always felt that Apple put profit ahead of customers, by forcing them to pay extra for memory storage. It's sad to think that Samsung has adopted this same marketing strategy. I really do hope that Samsung will rething the SD Card issue and bring it back for future models.

Yessssss is very important to come back with SD card slot on new phones of S edition and the pen too. Very more easy to store our pics video etc. Samsung don't need to copy iphone with their phones. Remember Samsung need to stick with their own style with SD card Slot no matter what. That is Samsung Unique phones with their SD Card Slot. For now on must come with the SD Card Slot and His Pen !!!!

I completely agree. I'm annoyed with Samsung for not including the expandable storage feature on their latest flagship phones! I was a huge fan of the Note series & was heartbroken when they decided to discontinue that series. I love the new features of the new phones, but the expandable storage feature especially since apps require so much space & updates, make the expandable storage feature a must! I bought the Samsung A54 because it had the expandable storage. If Samsung didn't have this new phone with expandable storage, I'd buy another brand with that feature! I sincerely hope that they bring that feature back to the flagship phones if not all their phones!
