i really don't like how it got rid of being able to call up my assistant by swiping from the corner and replaced it with a long press of the power button. call me old fashioned but i hate how the power button is now the "side button" and samsung and other phone manufacturers keep trying to make it do more stuff than just show the power menu when you hold it down. i also hate how the quick settings and notification panel are split by default like some chinese bootleg iphone, but thankfully that's easy enough to fix.

has everyone just forgotten that you can swipe down from the status bar with two fingers to open the quick settings without having to open your notifications, and that that gesture has been a thing in android phones, not just samsung ones, for years? is there any way to bring back the corner swipe or am i just forced to live in this stupid "side button" world until if and when samsung decides to reimplement the corner swipe gesture for people who use gesture nav? will we stop dumbing down software for the lowest common denominator?

Hi bingobongo,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback regarding the recent One UI 7 update on your Galaxy Z Flip6.

We understand that changes to familiar features like the gesture for summoning your digital assistant or adjustments to the Quick Settings layout can feel frustrating, especially when they impact your daily use.

We’ve noted your feedback and encourage you to submit it via the Samsung Members app > Support > Send Feedback it really helps us improve future updates.

We truly appreciate you sharing your perspective. We’re always listening, and input like yours helps shape the evolution of One UI. Please stay tuned, as we’re continuously working to balance intuitive design with customization and performance.

You can change the top drop-down menu back to how it used to be

I agree with the power button being "side button" just add another button, apples been doing this alot and they're useful

i know you can change the notification shade, that's the first thing i did after i updated. my main issue is taking away the swipe gesture for google assistant and trying to make the power button "smarter"

If they want the power button to be "special," they should make it like apples, iPhone 16, camera touch button thing, but I can't see samsung doing something new and just simply upgrading each generation
