You literally just updated your One UI.

Why on God's green Earth am I still not able to use Gemini (Google assistant) on the cover screen?

This is just gross and confidence at this point. You should be embarrassed.

I absolutely hate most updates. Everything gets moved around. Some apps on home screen change colour, harder to find. Updates are ok just let me opt to move things or give me option for my old layout and colour. I'm going to switch to iPhone!!!!

I am not seeing what you mean by "not able to use Gemini on cover screen"

If you have your device set to bring Gemini up by long press on the power button it comes up and able to use on any screen including the cover screen from what I can see🤔

Honestly, it's not a "fail" from Samsung; it's a feature. They've clearly just implemented their new "Strategic Feature Delay" (SFD) initiative.
The idea is brilliant, really: Why give you all the cool stuff at once when they can drip-feed it to you over multiple updates, each time creating a fresh wave of artificial excitement and proving they're "still innovating"? The Gemini on the cover screen? That's probably slated for One UI 7.5, right after they finally fix that bug where your phone sometimes spontaneously turns into a small, angry badger.
It’s not embarrassment, it’s calculated brand management. They know you're frustrated, but they also know you're probably not switching to an iPhone because that's just a different flavor of locked-down garden. So, they sit back, sip their lattes, and occasionally push out an update that does absolutely nothing to address the core issues, all while adding 17 new ways to customize your lock screen clock.
My guess? They had a big meeting. Someone said, "Should we put Gemini on the cover screen?" And a senior executive, probably wearing a monocle, slammed their fist on the table and declared, "Absolutely not! How else will we justify the 'revolutionary' One UI 7.6 update next year, which will finally allow you to tell Gemini to set a timer without unfolding your phone like a desperate origami artist?"
It's not incompetence; it's forward-thinking obsolescence planning. They're just future-proofing your frustration.

What device are you using that you are not able to use Gemini on the cover screen?
I tried it on my Tab 9 Ultra, S24, and S25 Ultra and it is available on all of them no matter which screen

Go to Gemini and ask it about all the permissions you can grant it and Grant it all the permissions that it asked for I literally just said out loud as if I don't have the Philippine language in my keyboard and then Google started downloading languages I didn't ask it to it didn't notify me exactly how I gave it permission exactly how I want my phone to act you want that I got your back

Hi Winstontaneous,

We understand your frustration, and you're absolutely right to expect more when it comes to software consistency—especially after a One UI update.

At this time, Gemini (Google Assistant with AI features) is not fully supported on the cover screen of some foldables due to limitations between Google's app behavior and Samsung's cover display framework. We agree this is a valid and increasingly important feature request, especially with the rise of AI assistants.

We'll forward this internally as feedback, and we'll continue pushing for tighter integration between Google services and One UI features—especially for foldables where the cover screen experience really matters.

Thank you.
