I ran into an issue with wireless charging where it won't charge unless the phone is in an unfolded state. I tried to run diagnostics but can't really do that when the phone is closed. When it's folded the charger has a red blinking light and wont charge. I'm using the Samsung fast charger and it was working up until the last software update I think. Anyone else have this issue?

The battery of zFlip should be on bottom half. Are you placing your phone on charger correctly?Screenshot_20221227_175555_Edge.jpg

Thanks for the reply :)
Yep it was working without issue before and I had the phone in a folded state and the backside was planted on the chargepad. In the folded state especially its tough to put it on there incorrectly. The only way to get it to charge now is to put it down while unfolded. I tried putting it down folded and then unfolding while it was on the pad but its already in the error state and won't charge. Then I tried putting it down unfolded, it starts to charge, and then stops as soon as I fold the phone closed.

That's strange. I am not sure if this is caused by software update.

Try go to recovery mode and do a wipe cache partition. If this cannot resolve, sounds like hardware problem.

Yeah definitely strange. I wiped the cache partition and it didn't resolve. My only hope is that it's software seeing as it'll charge fine when the phone is open.

I have a fold, but doesn't has your issue. What about using an usb cable charge your phone when it is folded?

Yep it charges fine with USB when folded, and it'll wireless charge if I fold it most of the way, but as soon as I fully close it it'll stop.
