Galaxy Z Flip 4 is a scam. Won't withstand any drops with a shockproof case.

Hey tough story here, and big Samsung fan, until Wednesday.

I've recently got the Z Flip 4 (November 15, 2022) and the other day the screen would not open. I'm not sure if I dropped it or not, but it had a "shock resistant" case on a phone that "withstands drips and drops" and now the phone won't open. If the phone tumbled down a flight of stairs, I wouldn't be surprised, but three weeks with a case on it... and I don't even remember where I had dropped it, or if I even dropped it.

When I visited the Metrotown Mall here in Burnaby I was dismissed at the door and asked to pay $660 as there was a small ding, which you need glasses to see, and only able to see it because it is grey, and the phone is black.

I should also add he took the case off, inspected it, said it looks fine, went to the back to ask someone else, when he came back he showed me the tiny ding and said that was what caused the damage, so the warranty is void.

I want to say that the technician very well could have taken the phone apart, re hinged it, and it would have worked fine, but he stated the front & back screen needed to be replaced. This is after going to the back... which seems suspicious but I'm not a cry baby.

I've been extremely loyal to Samsung, all my monitors, TVs, external hard drive, and past cell phones were all Samsung. The phones were always brought back in working condition, which would have been the past 11 years, so I had never questioned their durability. I tell my family members to get Samsung over any other device because it's UNIX.

All I ask is a fair repair price, $660 is unnecessary, it bothers me because I think he was being rude to me.

do you have any pictures of the ding?

It's hard as my only other camera **bleep**, but it might be 0.5 mm on the corner, a bit smaller, maybe 0.3-4 mm. You can only see it with it right in front of your nose.

It also looks like there are hundreds of people from multiple countries that want to take Samsung to court.

What if my phone drops again? Do I have to pay $660 everytime I drop my phone? That could cost me over $10,000 considering this happened to me within a month with a case on it.

Is there a way to send the phone back after I repair the device? There is absolutely no way I want to keep this phone. I should have stuck with my original selection the S, but this Z was on sale so I thought I'd try it. I'm so frigging mad.

Sorry to hear. My fold 3 flew off a scooter twice and survived. Just the screen protector broke

It's only a matter of time my friend. Petitions are popping up everywhere. I would return it ASAP.

Had it for over a year now and love it. Sorry for your experience

Knock on wood. There are too many people. Rogers rep said he's been told they're out of parts for fixing screens at repair shops.
