After every update and almost every day, a user should wipe their cache partition. You access the menu by powering the phone off, press and hold the volume up button before holding the power button until the device vibrates. Let go of the buttons and you will be in a somewhat powerful menu.

The only option you want is "wipe cache partition" and nothing else. Scroll to the option using the volume up / down buttons then select the option using the power button. Then choose "yes" and then choose "reboot" on the next screen (same as first screen).

NOTE:

DO NOT DO THIS IF NOT COMFORTABLE DOING SO.

PLEASE DO NOT WIPE YOUR DEVICE, JUST WIPE THE CACHE PARTITION.

Hi frizzybob,

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing battery drain issues following the recent update on your device. Please note that it may take some time for the system to fully optimize after an update. In the meantime, we will proceed with a few troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

  1. Restart Your Device

    • A simple restart can help stabilize system processes after a major update.

  2. Check for Additional Updates

    • Go to Settings > System > Software Update to ensure you have the latest patches that may address post-update issues.

  3. Review Battery Usage

    • Navigate to Settings > Battery > Battery Usage to identify any apps or services consuming excessive power.

  4. Disable Unused Features

    • Turn off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Location, and Background App Refresh when not in use.

  5. Limit Background Activity

    • Go to Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Battery and restrict background activity for non-essential apps.

  6. Clear Cache Partition

    • Boot into recovery mode and clear the cache partition to remove residual files from the update that may be causing instability.

  7. Avoid Charging While Using Bluetooth Audio

    • Charging during Bluetooth playback can increase thermal load—try separating these activities.

  8. Use Battery Saver Mode

    • Enable Battery Saver to reduce system strain and extend battery life.

  9. Monitor Device Temperature

    • Avoid using the phone in direct sunlight or with heavy cases that trap heat.

  10. Factory Reset (if necessary)

    • If issues persist, consider backing up your data and performing a factory reset to restore optimal performance.
