Bought this Z Flip 4 2 years ago and happened today for the first time. Whenever the phone is fully open it just keeps turning off so I need to restart my phone. Anybody has ideas why it happens and if I don't have Samsung Care, am I just better off buying a new phone? Thank you.

Have you checked the charge percentage rate on the battery? Is the rate between 0% and 100%. Other possibilities that there could be is the electrical inside the hinge when the phone is flipped open, the power button may be an issue, there could be settings that are causing the phone to shut off sooner than expected, is the charger plugged in to the phone properly when charging, etc. Before purchasing Samsung Care and/or a new phone, I would recommend taking the current phone to a Samsung Certified Repair Shop where they could try to diagnose and solve what is causing the issue. This would be a lot cheaper than paying outright for a new phone.

Hi zzz365247,

If your phone gets too hot, it may shut down to protect itself. Avoid using intensive apps while charging.

Please boot your phone in Safe Mode (hold the power button, tap and hold Power off, then tap Safe mode). This will help determine if a third-party app is causing the issue.

If nothing works, consider backing up your data and performing a factory data reset.

If you still experience issues after trying these steps, please contact the nearest Samsung authorized service center by visiting the link given above.

Thank you.
