Nope didn't work. Actually made it disappear altogether even if "show percentage" was still on. Had to put it off and back on to get the 0 back

Just a guess, but their screen shot is just going to show that the battery percentage is not displaying anything other than "0%". Not sure how that might help, unless you had a screen shot of something else in mind..

That notwithstanding, given what else they have tried, and if it is NOT a bug in the update, then in all likelihood, the only solution would seem to be a Factory Reset, something which they have said they aren't interested in doing.

Maybe they will change their mind?

Why are you so intent on having us factory reset instead of trying to find another solution? If you do a google search QUITE A FEW OTHERS also have this problem. So it's possibly a glitch in the updates.
You may go the the extreme after 1 try but I on the other hand am ok to search for other less drastic solutions.

I'm certainly not "intent" on suggesting a Factory Reset.

Maybe I didn't understand, but it almost sounds like you may think that I work for Samsung, when you said, "Why are you so intent on having us factory reset"?

If there's a solution to any particular issues, that doesn't seem to require a Factory Reset, I'll definitely go there first!

There's been a couple of other suggestions here, wiping cache (which I didn't think would help) & going into Dev Options, & as I said earlier, unless it's an issue with the update itself, and after having exhausted any other ideas that I can think of, then a Factory Reset is kind of the last resort, and baring any issues with the update, or hardware, a Factory Reset can often resolve issues.

So give them time to look into the issue (update) instead of saying 2x in less than 2 days "factory reset".
It took 1 year to do and distribute the updates. I for 1 can understand if it takes more than 5 minutes to find and resolve the issue

Just an FYI, but I and a number of other people here on Samsung Members, always perform a Factory Reset after any Android version update, & we've never had any issues.

But have a look at the link below,

You might be interested in the solution for the same issue as with your device.
