OthersCan confirm a few things here. I have this issue on a new S22 Ultra.
Brightness: maxed
Adaptive Brightness: off
Eye comfort shield: off
Light mode/theme: enabled
Extra Brightness: enabled
This happens in some apps with navigation, including Google Maps and Uber Driver app. It does not happen in the Lyft Driver app or in Waze. This happens in sunlight (even inside your car) but does not happen when indoors.
This is some sort of auto-dim feature in navigation apps when in sunlight.
