Apple has a Built-in Backup that doesn't only backup the apks - It BACKS UP the App Data as well!
This suggestion has been posted several times already!
Samsung DEFINITELY has the ability to provide a REAL backup solution for Samsung Devices - WHY haven't you done anything about it?
Smart Switch is a decent backup utility - But it ONLY does HALF the job! Without backing up the app Data it falls short of what Apple is providing to their loyal customers!
A Non Root version of TWRP or Titanium Backup should be an integral part of ANY Advanced system!

@mods Rather than say "this is a great suggestion...and we'll hope to see it in a future update" if in fact you do... Push Samsung to be at least as good as Apple in this respect - Then you will clearly demonstrate that you will continue to be miles ahead of the "fruit o/s" 🙂

"You know what Apple kills Android on? Backups. You can save a backup of your entire phone, apps and all, to iCloud. That’s built right into the OS. Android has nothing like that. Absurd. Saving your data should not be this difficult. Keeping backups is essential, too. Phones fail. Backups are essential."

Important to Note that Samsung Cloud no longer supports 3rd party apps effective February 6th 2018!

Hey @ShaggyskunkS9P, thanks for the suggestions. We are sorry to inform you that implementation of any feature can be relatively slow as there are multiple steps that needs to be taken before the release. I will forward your suggestions to development team and hope to see the change in the future release!

any android phone automatically backup with a Google account. You can set up google drive to auto backup your phone data. you can install an app from the Google app store called Helium. it allows you to back up your phone on a PC. you will need to install an addon on your computer.

a) Helium hasn't been updated since 2016 and reports are rampant about it's failure to backup & restore.

b) Backups of ~ 30 Gig to the cloud are not what the majority of people want (Especially those of us who are familiar with TWRP Nandroids & Titanium Backup & Restore).

I disagree. 🤖
Samsung shouldn't be storing app/user data. Apple is infringing on Apple users privacy when storing user data with or without permission. They are too much report of photos hacked/leaked on iCloud garbage. I don't think Apple know what encryption is.

Just in case you missed my previous "suggestions", and note that I referenced what I would like to see - I'm hoping that Samsung will develop a Non Root version of TWRP or Titanium - Neither of these have backups stored anywhere but on your device - Either the internal storage or the external sd card (my preference is to use the external sd card).
Samsung HAS the ability to do this - Problem is that they don't have the will to do it!
Backing up apks is nothing special - ie: Smart Switch - There's several apps that can do the same thing AND without needing to use your computer!!

K. With encryption of course. I can see the reason behind not caring too much about backing up data. Especially, for the US market, those guys will sue if something is broken.

@sirdre The other thing about Smart Switch is that it's essentially unchanged since it's inception.....2013! It FIVE years old - And like I said there's apps on the Play Store that backup apks to either your internal storage or your external sd card AND it's FASTER!
