OthersHi,
I've just purchased a HW-Q990B soundbar and even me being extremely happy with it, I wanted to suggest and improvement/option samsung could make to improve the happiness of the customers. When using standard mode (which basically does not upmix the sound channels) the side sorround channel comes from the side speakers of the soundbar, which to me is a huge error. If you pay attention to dolby guidelines:
https://www.dolby.com/siteassets/technologies/dolby-atmos/atmos-installation-guidelines-121318_r3.1....
Left and right sorround speakers are placed pointing towards the listener, the closest speakers in the HW-Q990B would be rear sorround speakers, which actually have a side speaker that would be bouncing in the walls and could make the job in a better fashion than the side speakers placed on the front soundbar, which is usally (and should be) further apart from the viewer.
Could at least samsung sound department provide the customer with the ability to select wether they want to use the rear side channels as left and right surround (or even maybe both at the same time) speakers when standard mode is selected?
Thanks.
