Lost all text messages history

Why have I lost all my history with text messages I lost 2 yrs of history. How can I retrieve it.

What messaging app do you use? For Samsung Messages, messages should be moved to trash, and you can recover them from there

Unless you have deleted your texts, they should still be available from your Carrier.

ie: I can Clear the Data from Google Messages on my device, and it will remove the messages stored on my device, but they will be automatically repopulated from my Carrier. 

My messages are also backed up to my device using Smart Switch & SMS Backup & Restore (app from the Play Store), as well as to Google Drive. 

If you have backups scheduled, you should also be able to retrieve your messages from your backups.

Hi, depending on your carrier it is possible to retrieve text messages from your service provider.

If you backed up them on some apps, you can retrieve those messages by yourself.
