OthersGreetings community - First Time Poster here.
I wish I was writing as just how happy I am with my new dishwasher purchase, however I am writing with a warning.
After drilling a sales person on the many variants of dishwashers out there today, I bought a new DW80B7070US dishwasher to replace my old Kenmore Elite. The install went well, connection and fit under the counter was perfect and the test run... Oh how silent it was....
Everything was great, UNTIL... I started loading dishes.
I think Dishwasher manufacturers are adopting the same philosophy as Food producers, Shrinkology! Pay more for smaller stuff.
The warning....
If you use non-standard sized dinnerware, DO NOT buy this machine.
Normal plates are about 10.5 inches, our everyday plates are 11.5. That extra inch was not a problem for the Kenmore, even if we lowered the middle rack, however in this machine, dropping the middle rack brings the middle rack sprayer into contact with the dishes. Not being able to drop the middle rack means that our slightly oversized bread/desert plates will not fit on the middle rack. (Again, this was not a problem with the old Kenmore) If you want to wash a standard sized Cookie sheet... Forget it (unless you lay it face down on the rack).
The dish prongs on the racks themselves are extremely tight. Fat rimmed dishes do not fit or are extremely tight which causes them to rub against each other. In other words, there isn't much space between dishes for the water to get through.
If your dishes extend an inch above the middle rack, they'll bump into the utility rack (3rd rack). Placing a spatula on the utility rack, interferes with the top sprayer and because that sprayer is micro-sized, cutlery placed in the rack near the front and rear of the rack do not receive enough water to clean them properly. In my opinion, that top utility rack is more of a hinderance than it is useful and I will most likely remove it (if my wife lets me!!). The third rack is not worth the money you pay for it.
Next, the unit came with an installation and user manual. A SIMPLIFIED user manual, which does not contain ANY information on using the advance features of this machine. Absolutely nothing on how to set up Smart Things, (dumb idea for a dishwasher anyway) and there is nothing about set up on the Samsung product page. In order to find out more and get guidance, I had to contact Support (only to find out that there is a more in-depth user manual for the machine which is downloadable in PDF format from Samsung.) If you want a paper copy, you have to print the portions you want out of this 68 page document yourself.
Positive feed back....
Yes, IT IS QUIET! Unbelievably quiet. Yes, the door does pop open to assist the air dry system and Yes, it does have some snazzy features.
Would I recommend this machine to someone else?
Not to anyone with non-standard dishes.
Long story short...
Take your largest dishes you are going to put on a rack with you when checking out dishwashers. Make sure your dishes fit before buying.
Measure twice, Buy once!

OthersA few years ago it occasionally stopped draining so it was using the same water for every cycle. I thought it was a defective relay not allowing the drain cycle and they are soldered to the main board.
I bought all three as I had no idea which one it was and soldered all the new ones on. Same problem.. I took the whole bottom unit out and apart and found a .25 cent size round piece of plastic that was dropping right into the drain hole. It was very worn from splashing around but it must have been in the dishwasher from day 1.
They probably put one in every dishwasher hoping people will just but a new one.
Anyway it's been going strong ever since.
