OthersI bought a new Samsung QLED 60 inch TV and I’m in love but unfortunately the contrast or HDR changes depending with what is happening on screen! It’s super distracting and there doesn’t seem to be an option in Picture Settings or General to turn this off! Please someone help me!

OthersI'm also suffering from this issue for a long time. But recently I learnt about the local dimming concept and start searching on the web, and finally seems getting a solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42iD5vRMR9k
Also you may also directly google for the hidden system option "PWM_INI_2D", and you will see related tutorials.
Warning: Changing internal system config may void your warranty.

Othersany change you can make as described above should be reversible by resetting to factory mode. Have you noticed any problems related to this 'solution'? I'm frustrated that Samsung won't even acknowledge the problem. They call it "a feature". It's also very difficult to demonstrate because any effort at photographing/videoing the screen gets 'corrected' by the camera.

OthersI’m having the same issue. This isn’t contrast, HDR or anything else. All auto features are turned off for me. It’s local dimming and you can only change it to low, standard and high. It’s a huge problem that we can’t turn it to off.

OthersOK. I have contacted Samsung Support by email and they told me this is caused by having the eco sensor enabled. But that’s the first thing I disabled, and the same goes for brightness optimization.
After I explained to them that I’ve disabled both those options they told me: “we’re sorry you’re not satisfied with your product. We can arrange a service technician appointment for you, but it could end up costing you money because as far as we know there is no issue with your tv”.
What happens if I disable CE dimming? Will local dimming also be disabled?

OthersI've just got a 2023 model. The QN 90C neo TV 55 in the local dimming for gaming is terrible on gaming mode. Local dimming should be disabled. Any type of dimming should be disabled when in game mode my 5-year-old Panasonic have just switched out of doesn't have any of these dimming features unless I want them on. Also has a game mode. Yes this TV I've got right now is more advanced because I wanted all this features for my series X and finally I get a TV like that and I'm unhappy I'm unhappy because I didn't think local dimming was still an issue with TVs especially in game mode game mode is designed for the best picture for games, not for TV and that's a consistent brightness level So it shows you TVs are still not up to scratch for gaming to be honest on white pissed off about the TV is worth two grand and you can't even turn off a local dimming setting for gaming. What a joke
