OthersWe purchased a Samsung RF26J7500SR refrigerator in 2016. It worked fine for the first 3 years and then the problems started. The ice maker began freezing up totally and the ice bucket was so bound up with ice around the outside of it that we could not remove it until we thawed it out. It has since been replaced under an extended warranty in June 2020 but I now have another claim in for it to be replaced again as it is leaking water.
Also, the cooling fan started making loud buzzing noises and it turns out the entire back panel was completely frozen up with ice as the defrost drain was frozen. In August 2020 the entire back panel with the cooling fan was replaced (under extended warranty again) and a new drain kit was put in with an updated gadget on the defrost heating coil to avoid freezing again but here we are only 6 weeks later and the problem is back. I made another claim today to have this repaired again.
I was told by the warranty company that the fridge needs to be unplugged for 3-4 days to properly defrost and dry out to remove all the moisture or this problem will persist. If that is the case why didn't the repairman who installed the new panel tell us that? Also, what is one supposed to do with all their food for 3-4 days?
We paid $2400 for the fridge and I couldn't be more disappointed. These are apparently known problems with this Samsung fridge. The inconvenience this has caused over the past few months has been significant and worrisome. Why keep repairing this lemon? In my mind Samsung should be replacing this fridge with a new one.
I am so disappointed with this Samsung product that 5 weeks ago I bought a new 55" 4K UHD TV and I had narrowed down the models to a Samsung and LG and I purchased the LG solely on the basis of my disappointment with our Samsung fridge.

OthersOur refrigerator model #Rf28k9070sg has gone out a 2nd time. We went through it all a couple of years ago. The freezer went down not even a year after getting it fixed. Now the whole fridge has stopped again. It's a complete lemon. I am currently with a representative trying to get it resolved yet again. Last time it took almost 2 months

OthersI am envious of you. You got 3 years out of yours. I got 11 months before it pooped out. The worst part is it came directly from Samsung through an influencer site and they do nothing but give me a hard time trying to get it fixed. Guess when our followers get the update they may go elsewhere for a fridge. These look great but they are not worth the headache. I'll eat the few thousand it looks like.

OthersOur $3,100 model lasted 14 months. Then the ice maker broke — cheap piece of plastic that served as the ice tray exploded and fell into the ice bin. The first repair shop I called? The guy said they won't work on Samsung refrigerators. "Good luck with a Samsung refrigerator. You'll just keep having the same problem." The plastic part must have cost $1.79, but of course we had to replace the whole motor and tray -- 2 months out of warranty. Found an authorized Samsung repair shop (1.5 stars on Yelp). They replaced the motor and cheap plastic tray for $280. And we were just getting started. Two weeks later: Same thing. The repair guy said the problem is the drain pipes (the pipes that fill the ice trays with water) are too long. It's a known problem to Samsung. He says they'll need to be replaced, otherwise they will continue to literally freeze to the ice tray and snap it like a twig when the motor rotates the tray to dump the ice.

OthersI wish I'd seen this thread before I bought this refrigerator. I haven't yet had the issues that I keep hearing about the icemaker or the thermostat (fingers crossed!), but my problems all stem from the remarkably poor quality of the plastic used for the interior components. A door shelf cracked after about 6 months of use, and the deli drawer lid broke not long after. Thankfully those were within the warranty period (although we could only get resolution through Costco and Samsung Support almost made us pay for replacement parts). 4 years later and a number of other components have now broken. A wheel broke off the bottom of the deli drawer and it's all wonky and wobbly now. The insult to the injury is the indifference and utter uselessness of Samsung Support throughout. The won't even set up a repair appointment or order the parts you need. They literally just send you a link to a parts store or contact info for a service tech and send you on your way. They could care less. And you know what? Message received. I will remember this when it comes time - most likely sooner than planned - to replace this appliance and others.
