I think Samsung should separate its One UI and Android updates. That is, apply Android updates when Google releases them, then at a date of their own they'll release One UI every year. This would allow users to have Android as soon as Google releases it. And it would also give Samsung an extra special event to communicate about their services and please their fans.

Explanation: Android 15 could come with ONE UI 6 and then n ONE UI 7 could come later.
What do you think?

By the way, ONE UI is just an interface that is just the overlay for an operating system that also includes the file system and, above all, the kernel, which is the basis of the system.

That's never going to happen.

The update for One UI V7.0 this year, has been an anomaly in it's delay.

Google also delayed it's release of Android 15 last year.

One UI is more than just a skin, it adds quite a few additional features & functionality.

in the last several previous years, Samsung released the next Android / One UI version well before the end of the year.

Exactly, one UI is bigger every year, so they need more time to make their changes. Therefore it's better to release Android first with the previous one UI version witch remain compatible as all our apps in our phones.

It doesn't work like that. You can't separate the Android version from the One UI version.

Did you understand that the One UI V7.0 update delay, is not the normal situation?

I think that One UI V6.0 was released in November 2023. There's no way that Samsung (or any other OEM), would effectively double the amount of work for a version update..

Yes it's possible, look at this this link https://chatgpt.com/share/67f683d3-135c-8000-99b1-10892628399e

Did you actually read what was said?

"While it's technically feasible for Samsung to update the underlying Android OS while retaining the existing One UI version, this approach is uncommon. Samsung's One UI is DEEPLY INTEGRATED with the Android OS to provide a cohesive user experience, and significant One UI features often rely on the latest Android functionalities. Therefore, major Android updates are typically accompanied by a new One UI version to ensure compatibility and to introduce new features and improvements."

No company is going to do what you are suggesting.

I don't say it's perfect or complete but possible, while you were saying no. At least the big part of android 15 can be pushed.

Samsung can and does update parts of One UI independently of Android through Galaxy Store or Google Play system updates.
Android has moved towards a modular architecture (Project Mainline) since Android 10, allowing parts of the system to be updated without a full OS update.

Galaxy Store doesn't update System Apps, and Play System is from Google, not Samsung.

As I said, NO OEM would ever do what you are suggesting.

I'm not saying Samsung would do it but they should. Pixel is doing something similar with Android stock first and later many pixel features drops during the year https://blog.google/products/pixel/pixel-drop-march-2025/
