OthersI’ve been a top load washer for over 30 years, and I must say that it has been the norm for me. Since times change and so do appliances, I decided to upgrade to what I call laundry mat washers. I will say there are advantages and disadvantages to owning a front load washer during these modern times. From what I’ve read throughout the years and from what I have experience with this WF53BB8900 Samsung Bespoke 5.3 cu. ft. Ultra Capacity Washer with Ai OptiWash and Auto Dispense, there are plenty of advantages and just a few disadvantages.
Advantages – The modern and stylish Bespoke design has three colors to choose form: Silver Steel, my favorite the Brushed Navy and now Forest Green. It a large capacity of 5.3 cu. ft. for large loads and an Ai OptiWash that senses the types of fabric and the amount of soil to adjust the time and detergent needed to be used to wash the clothes. The Auto Dispense System has drastically controlled the amount of detergent and fabric softener by holding 32 loads in the dispenser. By using the Auto Dispense System, I have saved lots of money by not constantly buying laundry supplies. The Ai Smart Dial with MultiControl is an all-in-one turn of the dial. All the 25 washing cycles available range from Towels, delicates, Bedding, Activewear, Denim and Steam Sanitize just to name a few. Speaking of Steam Sanitize+ it has available 6 different options to choose from including, Steam Allergens for those with allergy issues. This washer has five different temperature settings ranging from Extra Hot to Tap Cold. There’s also 18 Additional Washing Options to include Presoak to Child Lock, 7 Spin Settings and 5 Soil Settings with Wi-Fi Connectivity, Samsung SmartThings, and Energy Star Most Efficient rating, this makes the Samsung Bespoke Front Load Washer and great buy. Now, there are things that you may want to consider.
Disadvantages – The low washer door is not ADA Compliant since you need to buy the additional 27” wide riser, if not it’s lower to the ground. Manual Fabric Softener is not available in the same dispensing tray as that of detergent as compared to other models. Most of your Washing Cycles, and Options are only available in the SmartThings App. The monthly cleaning of the washer (Self Clean+, Mesh Filter, Debris Filter, Detergent Drawer and Door Diaphragm) is a most if you want to have it last for many years. Non-reversible washer door.
In conclusion, as I stated at the beginning of this review, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Yes, most of my disadvantages requires lots of maintenance, but to sustain a washer to last for years to come and based on many years since the first front load washer was introduced into the homes of families, it’s expected that one should care for their utilities if one needs them to continue to work.
Samsung Dryer:
I’ve been a top load dryer for over 30 years, and I must say that it has been the norm for me. Since times change and so do appliances, I decided to upgrade to what I call laundry mat dryers. I will say there are advantages and disadvantages to owning a front load dryer during these modern times. From what I have experienced with this DV53BB8900 Samsung Bespoke 7.6 cu. ft. Ultra Capacity Electric Dryer with Ai Optimal Dry and Super Speed Dry, there are plenty of advantages and just a few disadvantages.
Advantages – The modern and stylish Bespoke design has three colors to choose form: Silver Steel, my favorite the Brushed Navy and now Forest Green. It a large capacity of 7.6 cu. ft. for large loads and an Ai Dry that senses the time and temperature settings for your clothes. The Ai Smart Dial is an all-in-one turn of the dial feature that learns and recommends cycles based on the clothes you constantly wash. It also has MultiControl which if connected to the matching washer could be controlled from there. The Wi-Fi Connectivity is great for controlling the dryer from the SmartThings App and setting up many features like end of cycle alerts, and scheduling cycles when not at home (Feature: Remaining Laundry – Going Out Mode). Another great feature that my normal dryer never had is the Steam Santize+ which helps remove odor, wrinkles and static while removing most pollens from clothing. There are a total of 20 Preset Drying Cycles and most are available on the SmartThings App which can be added to the Ai Smart dial. These cycles include, but not limited to Permanent Press to Rack Dry, which is a great added accessory for those items you don’t want tumbling around in the dryer (sneakers, baseball caps). There are also an additional 14 Options to help with the drying to include: Anti-Static and Wrinkle Prevent, 5 Temperature Settings and 5 Drying Levels to help keep your clothes dry.
Disadvantages – Small capacity as compared to other dryers in the market with a larger capacity starting at 8.0 cu. ft. to 9.0 cu. ft. The drying of clothes is at times damp depending on the amount of clothes in the dryer. There are constant smudges and fingerprints on the glass door and all along the finish of the dryer.
In conclusion, as I stated at the beginning of this review, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Yes, the few disadvantage are just my nitpicking on capacity and dryness, but overall, It’s very modern and gets the job done.

OthersSamsung - Please make your Heat Pump Dryers in general more available, I could not find DV53BB8900 (color irrelevant) anywhere! There's only one place I could find this from and they're all the way on the other side of the country!
To top it off, please promote heat pump dryers in general more! I know 99% of society don't know what a heat pump is, but this is a much more efficient method of drying vs resistive heating! Most appliance sales people I've talked to don't even know what a heat pump dryer/ventless dryers are!
