I think my tv just died last night. From my research this is a common problem that plagued this model for years and a ton of other people had experienced the same problem as me with their own KS8000! My tv lasted 3 years and then boom! For no reason, vertical lines appears and started flickering! I bought this tv 3 years ago and it cost me $2000 cnd. At that price tag I was hoping it to last a little longer!!! I’am lost of words how disappointed I am about Samsung and their “quality” product!
Any help would be much appreciate. Thank you!

OthersSorry to hear that, I suggest you contact Samsung authorized service center so that the technician will examine the TV and check the root cause of the issue to fix the TV.

OthersHi Jeremie,
Can you comment on Samsung's stance on this product so far? I tried reaching out to you privately but I haven't gotten a reply after several days.
What should Samsung customers expect regarding the vertical line issue with the product?

OthersAlso, if you want to know what is the issue here, I can save you the $200 you will get fleeced on by the technician. The panel is toast and repairing it is not economical for a TV of that age. The other, very, very small possibility is that it is the board, but that will still run you around $500-$700 all in for repair.

OthersThx for your advice and sharing the experience you had with this tv. I still hope to salvage it cause it’s like brand new... I don’t want to trash it now. But yeah, if I get a new tv I will definitely stay away from Samsung! I mean for the amount of money I paid for this so call "premium" tv, I feel like I got robbed! I can’t believe the amount of KS8000 that broke like ours and Samsung didn’t acknowledge it and hasn’t done anything to accommodate us. Like a massive recall! I don’t know, but it’s certainly unfair to let the customer down like that, even after the 1 year warranty... 2-3 years and it’s already broken! Unacceptable!

OthersHey Dejanh,
Would you mind commenting a bit more about the customer service experience you had with Samsung? I have the same issue with my TV and I want to hear about your experience if you don't mind sharing. I think the more out in the open we all are about this issue and the way Samsung's dealing with it will hopefully put more and more people off dropping $2k on their defective products.

OthersTV's dead. It'll probably cost as much as a new TV to fix....
Could be something blown or partially un-soldered.
Most manufacturers use non-lead solder which doesn't flex as well with heat and normally cause it to come off from the board.

OthersHey Jonathan,
Were you able to get any help from Samsung with the TV? I have the exact same model, bought it in March of 2017 and the exact same issue just happened to me. From everything I've read it sounds like the TV is finished. For a $2k CAD TV this is totally unaccetable and Samsung should be addressing this issue.
I purchased my TV in the US and moved it to Canada where I now live. In the US forums there is a lot more activity and Samsung moderators have taken steps to replace many customers' TVs outright since this issue is so prolific. We should be expecting the same sort of customer service from Samsung in Canada as well. I've purchased Samsung TVs and monitors for $1k+ in the past and they still run with no issues, but when it comes to a higher end 4K TV apparently that's not the case.
Can any Samsung moderators please acknowledge this issue and come up with a way to help out their customers? Expecting us to call up a technician and foot a $500+ bill on an already expensive TV set after only 3 years is out of the question, the fact that that's even been suggested is completely unacceptable.
Edit: Wanted to add photos of my TV for proof. Also, here's a link to the US forums so others can see the extent of this defect and the level of service Samsung USA is providing to their customers:
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/4k-8k-and-Other-TVs/UN55KS8000-Vertical-colored-lines/m-p/873031
Searching "ks8000" on their forums will also bring up many other posts about the vertical line issue.
