Hi everyone,
I'm trying to download an older version of an app, but I couldn't find it on APKMirror (my main source for APKs). I found it on a website called Uptodown, but I'm a bit hesitant about its safety.

I scanned the APK with VirusTotal and it came back clean (0/63 detections), which is a good sign. However, I haven't heard much about them, and I want to be extra cautious.

Has anyone here used Uptodown before? If so, what was your experience? Is it a reliable source?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Kathrin1,

It’s generally regarded as a reliable source for downloading apps, including older versions, as long as you exercise caution.

Stick to Official Sources When Possible: APKMirror is a great source because it directly mirrors official releases. Uptodown is a decent fallback option, but always scan files from less familiar sites.

But as with any third-party APK source, vigilance is essential. If VirusTotal and other checks show no issues, Uptodown is likely safe for downloading your app.

Thank you.
