Steps Wrong

I have a Samsung S20 and an Active 2 smartwatch.  I noticed that most of my steps are coming from my phone and not my watch.  I have the phone set to also count steps in the event I don't have my watch on.  I would have thought it would default to my watch unless I wasn't wearing it.

In addition...

I went on a bike ride today wearing my watch and having my phone in my pocket.  It recorded my bike ride accurately, but also counted steps the entire time.  It appears the steps came from my phone.  Wouldn't the fact that my watch being in cycling mode tell the app to not count steps?

Thanks for any help!

Have a look at the link below - It's not an identical situation - But it looks like it might resolve your issue as well.

Hey@Blitzed26,

Please note that the steps are not counted when there is no hand movement in the exercise. For example, steps may not be recorded when pushing a lawnmower or cart because your hands are not moving. The watch is intended to calculate real step counts while walking.
