False advertising for the "up to 90% off" coupons.

The maximum discount is $7 CAD and the minimum spend is $9.90.

That means the maximum discount is only 70.7% if you hit $9.90 exactly, and lower if you spend more.

Wow, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Also the coupon doesn't work for the only game I play which is pokemon go. Like why won't it work for that game? It's stupid.

There is an app store coupon that advertises "up to 90% off", with a maximum of $7 off.

However, there is a minimum spend of $9.90 required, meaning it will always be exactly $7 off and only a maximum of 70.7% savings if you spend exactly $9.90. If you spend any more than that your % savings goes down.1725913016699.jpg

So the words "up to" mean that you get van get anywhere from 0% to 90% off an item. It's not false advertisement, and there's always conditions that apply...

Do the math. 7 divided by 9.9 is 70.707%. That's the maximum discount.

If you spend more than $9.90, you will still only get $7 discount (the only possible discount) which means your savings % goes down from there.

But that's not what the coupon says. For example, it says $7 maximum discount, but it does not explicitly say minimum 9.90 purchase, only that it can be used on a 9.90 purchase. Normally, a coupon would have to explicitly say both minimum and maximum for any monetary exclusions place on it. I read no minimums here
It also reinforces the up to 90% clause, because the more you spend, the lower the discount will become

"purchasing more than $9.90 items" means your spend needs to be $9.90+, the coupon doesn't show up otherwise

Browsing the community for this issue thinking it was a bug. Considering they haven't patched it since this post mean its an intended anti consumer mechanism. And yes the min spending isn't in other countries I was in HK for a month.
