Every. Single. Time. I get into my car my phone prompts me to enter my password to unlock my secure folder.  When I do it eagerly asks me if I want to install Android Auto.  If I say yes, it fails to install.  If I say no, it waits until the next time I get into the car to ask me again.  I don't know if this is a Secure Folder bug or an Android Auto bug, but it's driving me a little crazy.  I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+ with all available updates.  My car, if that is important, is a BMW M235i, which was one of the first BMW cars to support Android Auto.  I've seen similar issues reported here and elsewhere, but none that have tied it to Android Auto.  This has been going on for quite some time, so I'm absolutely sure that Android Auto and nothing else is the instigator of this problem.  I have not found any setting that would seem to govern this behavior.  I thought of trying to turn off some kind of notifications, but there is no obvious app, and this doesn't behave like a notification in any event.  If you need a bug report, let me know, and I'll capture it the next time it happens.

I am having the same issue as you described. I am using Note 8. Everytime phone connects AA wireless, secure folder triggers, asking me to download AA. And I feel it slows down my connection time to my headunit. Any solutions so far? Thanks

Hi, please check if there is any update available for the secure folder.
Also, perform the reset network settings and clear cache on your phone.

For  reset network, go to Settings> General Management> Reset> Reset Network Settings> Reset settings. This will reset all network settings, including those for Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth.

To clear cache, go to  Settings, swipe to, and touch Apps. Swipe to and touch the app you want to clear. Touch Storage, and then touch Clear cache.

I have the same thing happening. I have a Note 9 and never had this issue before. It only happens when Android Auto recognizes my car, it immediately prompts my secure folder and it will prompt it multiple times in a row. Crazy annoying. Let me know if anyone finds a solution please!

Hi,

I have the same issue too.

Phone: S9

Car: Skoda Octavia

The phone try to open the secured folder each time connect to android auto wireless. If i use the USB-cable to connect the phone with the car Android Auto starts without problems.

I think the problem is not the phone itself or the car. The problem is wireless Android Auto.

What can we do to fix it??

Greetings

Hi, We request you to register an Error Report from the Samsung Members app by attaching the system logs.

Open the Samsung Members app>> Menu >> Support >> Send feedback >> Error Report >> Send system log file.

With these logs, our team could analyze the performance and errors on the device and if there is anything related to the Samsung update that you have installed recently, we would push a fix through an update.

I'm having the same problem with my new 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500.

When I get in the truck, it prompts me to open secure folder and install Android Auto.

I certainly don't want AA installed there.  It's already installed outside of the secure folder and I used to use it just on the phone with my last vehicle.   In fact it was set to autostart when it connected via bluetooth.  That all work fine mostly.

Any solutions yet?
