Must Bluetooth of lost phone must be turned on or not for offline finding of Find my mobile?

Must Bluetooth of "assistant" phones must be turned on or not for offline finding of Find my mobile?

Find My Mobile does not need Bluetooth to be turned on.

Hey there! Huh, that is cool and creepy! Samsung is so awesome to make such mixed experiences! No connection but your device can still be tracked? Creepy! But yeah, if you lost it with no network around? Cool! I guess because Bluetooth is not used, it uses ad-hoc wifi? Maybe? That would be nice!
