I had texts from another driver ibwas involved in an accident with in which he admits fault 100%. I accidentally deleted them somehow a couple months ago. Now he is saying the complete opposite and I have looked in all my trash, recycle and archive bins and they are not there.

Can I do a restore point from earlier on in time before then? I don't think I had them in the cloud unfortunately.

Thank you for any help given🫰

Unfortunately, if you have deleted your texts, and you don't have a Smart Switch backup, Cloud Backup, they cannot be recovered.

If there was a criminal component to the accident, Law Enforcement might be able to recover the texts.

Thank you. There is a fraud component. I've been told that they can retrieve only the fact that texts were sent by the person to the other person but not the information that was sent. I always thought nothing was deleted forever.

I was told a third-party IT company can possibly find them but it's 100$ just to look at the phone and tell me if it's remotely possible and then the price skyrockets from there depending on how long it takes and no guarantees.

Thanks for replying

I was wondering if there is a restore point like on laptops in which you can go back in time before the deletion date.

Unfortunately no, Android doesn't have anything like a "Restore Point" that a Windows system has. If you use Smart Switch to backup your mobile phone, you could restore the backup, but it all depends on if / when you backed up your phone, and if you selected Texts as part of the backup.

This isn't going to help you now, but in addition to Smart Switch Backups, Google Backups, I also use this app to backup my texts.. it's kind of a "belt & suspenders" approach to making sure that I don't lose anything important.

If the Fraud component rises to the point of potential criminal charges, Law Enforcement should be able to help.

Sorry, forgot to include the screen shot of the app.

You can set it up to send your backup to your cloud storage, I use Google drive.

Hi Blaze1,

We regret to inform you that data restoration is not possible in this case. If the deleted data is no longer available in the Trash and no backup has been enabled via Samsung Cloud, Smart Switch, recovery cannot be performed.

To prevent future data loss, we recommend enabling regular backups through Samsung Cloud or Smart Switch.

Also Blaze1, if any company or companies try to ask you for any amount of money that you are not legally bound to pay for any recovery options, including especially third parties out there too, whether a 100$ or more as you say, and that they are going to charge you more after, cause its going to take longer to restore or to retrieve any data that was lost or corrupted for sure, then they are actually scamming or frauding you out of your hard earned money ok. So be very careful who you pay any of those services to, and make sure the company or companies you deal with, really exist and are legit as well, and are able to be found online too, or on the phone with a working number also. Because all companies have to be, and or should be registered with any better business bureau out there, that is registered with the local governments as well through legit websites also before proceeding with those transactions, as you so called mentioned too ok. So check all your background sources you know before wasting your money like that too, unless you you don't care and will be at your own risk. I was victimized as well, by some companies and or people too, and I'm telling you or others out there, to not fall for these pitfalls in the future ok, and to report them to the better business bureaus for verification and to your local authorities, like the police for cyber crimes as well. Though if you are in Canada too, then you can report it to the Canadian anti fraud center, to get them checked out as well, so you will be safe and not scammed or frauded, like I was too, and sold your personal information out there, which can sadly happen, to ruin your reputation and make you change most if not all of your personal info as well, including your phone number also, which for me personally, didn't go that far but can for sure, and as for me Have to block every scam call that comes through on my current phone now, until I get a new number soon, which I will with my current providers I have and maybe through an app also can be a good alternative for you, if that is your case in future as well. Have a great day and good luck out there, and stay safe too, on your devices and in person as well. Hope this helps you buddy. Take care.
