After a Samsung update on 20th October my S10fe shows Facebook in portrait mode, not landscape as set before the update. I have checked that I have it correctly set in 'Landscape view for portrait apps' and 'Full screen' for Facebook. I have also restarted my tablet and uninstalled and reinstalled the Facebook app. I also have the screen auto-rotate applied.

Most annoying as it worked perfectly prior to the recent update!

Anyone any suggestions please?

P.S. Great tablet otherwise.

Hi TrentEnd,

It is unusual to hear  that the recent Samsung update released on October 20th may have affected the landscape compatibility of certain apps, including Facebook, on your Galaxy S10 FE.

Suggested Next Steps

  1. Verify Labs Settings Again

    • Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Labs

    • Ensure Landscape view for portrait apps is enabled

    • Scroll to Facebook and toggle both Landscape view and Full screen

  2. Clear Facebook App Cache

    • Navigate to Settings > Apps > Facebook > Storage > Clear Cache

  3. Check for App and System Updates

    • Ensure both Facebook and your device software are fully updated.

  4. Some users have found that using Facebook via a browser (e.g., Samsung Internet or Chrome) allows landscape mode until the app is patched.

If the issue continues to persist after attempting the recommended troubleshooting steps, we kindly request that you submit an error report through the Samsung Members app. This will allow our technical team to review your case in detail and provide further assistance.

As the update has already been implemented, we currently do not have the option to revert to the previous feature. However, please be assured that we are actively reviewing this functionality and will work towards incorporating improvements in future updates. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.

Same experience for me. Honestly, I hate these stupid, and constant, updates. They change my settings, and I don't always remember how to fix them. So annoying!

Your fix doesn't work. My facebook app doesn't have an option for clearing the cache. Also, my tablet has the full screen option for particular apps under Aspect Ration, but it doesn't have a button called "Landscape view" to toggle on or off under the "forced Landscape for portrait apps" You go to the app listed under this function and toggle the particular app on or off the particular app. Anyway, it's not working. Maybe your interface between fb and Samsung Gallaxy isn't working.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with your device. We recommend performing a cache wipe and then booting the device into Safe Mode to help identify and resolve any underlying issues. Once these steps are completed, please check if the problem persists.

Here are the formal steps to perform a wipe cache partition

  1. Power off your device completely.

  2. Press and hold the following buttons simultaneously:

    • Volume Up + Power (Side) Button

    • On some models, you may also need to hold the Bixby button (if available)

  3. When the Samsung logo appears, release all buttons.

  4. The device will boot into Recovery Mode. Use the Volume buttons to navigate.

  5. Scroll to “Wipe Cache Partition” and press the Power button to select.

  6. Confirm by selecting “Yes”.

  7. Once the process is complete, select “Reboot System Now”.

  • This process does not delete personal data — it only clears temporary system files.

  • It can help resolve performance issues, app glitches, and post-update problems.

Here are the formal steps to boot your Samsung Galaxy device into Safe Mode:

    1. Power off your device completely.

    2. Press and hold the Power button until the Samsung logo appears.

    3. Once the logo appears, release the Power button and immediately press and hold the Volume Down button.

    4. Continue holding the Volume Down button until the device finishes restarting.

    5. You should now see “Safe Mode” displayed in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

    What Safe Mode Does

    • Temporarily disables all third-party apps.

    • Helps identify whether issues are caused by downloaded apps or system settings

Instructions failed. There is no "Scroll to Facebook and toggle both Landscape view" toggle in the FB app.

Hi, I've had the same issue on my new 10FE+ Table and after trying everything I could find online and here, nothing has worked. I've just resolved it on my device though...

  1. Uninstall the Facebook App - it's not required.
  2. Launch the Chrome Browser and login to your Facebook.
  3. Once you're authenticated and logged in, you will land on your Facebook profile homepage.
  4. In Chrome select the three dot menu in the top right corner and select 'Add to Home Screen'
  5. This will prompt you to create a new icon on your home screen BUT instead of just adding a web shortcut it will ask you 'Install App?'
  6. Click yes and a small web app icon will be installed.
  7. Look for the new icon on one of your home pages - it's a normal looking Facebook logo icon.
  8. Close your browser.
  9. Launch the web app from the new home screen Fb icon and you should see Facebook displayed in landscape.

Essentially, this small web app replaces the need for the mobile app - which has limitations anyway - and gives you a full web version experience in a web app and it resolves the displaying in landscape issue.

I hope this helps and works for you 😁👌

Cheers, MKX121
