Call and text on other devices- Link tablet SAMSUNG Galaxy S7 to cell S6 Edge.

Hello, 

I want to link my Samsung Tablet Galaxy S7 to my cell Samsung S6. When I turn on the option "Call & text on other devices " from my Tablet, and click " Link this tablet to your phone" : a QR code appears , and I am prompted to scan it with my phone camera. But my cellphone S6 Edge doesn't have the scan feature in the camera! 

In my cell's "Settings/ Advanced features " , I don't have the option " Call and text on other device " , to turn on, as advised in the HELP menu. Note that I already turned on the option "Nearby device scanning " in my cell. 

Please help, is there anything I can do? Is it because my cell S6 Edge is outdated and cannot be linked? Thank you very much for your assistance.

The Galaxy S6 Edge phone doesn't have the Call and Text feature.
Currently, the Call & Text on Other Devices service is only available for the Galaxy Note20, 20 Ultra, Tab S7, Tab S6, Tab S4 (SM-T835), Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Z Flip, S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Note10, Note10+, S10e, S10/10+, Note9, S9/S9+ and A70.

The Call & Text on Other Devices service is also available on the Samsung Galaxy Note8 and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

I have Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and my Note 8 apparently does not support this feature.

Should I have one of the enumerated phones, I would be able to link with my Tablet S7. Does it mean that this will allow me to make / receive calls from Tablet S7 using WIFI as well as sending/ receiving text messages with my Tablet S7 as in my cell , without using WhatsApp or Viber?

I have a tab S6 and galaxy s22. Any thoughts on why my phone says it dpesnt have an app to open the scanned qr code? Is there something I need to download?

that feature is a new that the current phones have such as the S10. a previous post stated the 9/9+ and A70.

I don't have personal experience with those but it works in my S10 and Tab S6 Lite.

On your phone in the pull down menu from top of your screen select highlighted icon Calls and text on other devices and it should then be unhighlighted and feature is disabled
