As title say. It slow. It also showing optimise one UI on restart. The only difference I added garmin connect app on the tablet and it kind of reminds me of my phone been slow and crashing when Galaxy watch was connected. Is there connection? Or samsung/google pushed some backdoor update? Firmware is latest and all apps updated. At least as far as check for updates show.

Hi Tony_gwh,

It sounds like the performance issues on your Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 might indeed be linked to the Garmin Connect app, especially given your past experience with slowdowns when connecting a Galaxy Watch to your phone.

The Garmin Connect app can run many background processes, including syncing data and notifications. If it’s continuously active, it could be consuming resources, slowing down your device. Try disabling background activity for Garmin Connect temporarily to see if it improves performance.

Regularly clear the cache for system apps, including One UI Home, to free up resources. To do this, go to Settings > Device Care > Memory > Clean Now. This can help if memory is being tied up by apps running in the background.

If you often see "Optimizing One UI" during restarts, it could be due to certain apps not fully optimizing with the device’s current software version. Try clearing the cache partition (this won’t delete any data):

  • Power off your tablet, then press and hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears.
  • Navigate to Wipe Cache Partition using the volume buttons, select it with the power button, and reboot.

If the tablet is still slow, you could boot into Safe Mode (by holding the power button, then tapping and holding "Power Off" and selecting Safe Mode) to see if the Garmin app is the cause. If performance improves in Safe Mode, it’s likely due to third-party apps.

If the performance improves after restricting or uninstalling Garmin Connect, it’s likely the app was affecting your tablet’s resources!

Thank you.

It deos not seem to take much of memory though. RAM (it's only 4GB of RAM) It always has 20-25% RAM free according to device care.

I bought the S6 Lite and it takes a long, long time to boot into a usable state.

When you login in, as soon as you can go to the running services list in settings and you'll see that the device is loading and unloading dozens of installed applications. Until it finishes doing this, the device is super sluggish. Probably takes 3 minutes. I have no idea why it does the loading. Even worse is that it doesn't start doing it until you log in for the first so you could power on the device, let it sit for an hour, then log in and you still have the couple minutes of sluggishness.

Pretty dumb design. A 13 year old Windows laptop will boot to a useable state in 15 seconds.

Another couple of GB of RAM would have made a big difference as Android is a memory pig.
