I seriously don't get what Samsung was thinking with One UI 8 on tablets. The Quick Panel looks so bad.. the recents app/task changer isn't even centered anymore and I don't get the recent apps on the bottom. But don't even get me started on Circle to Search. Why does it cover half the screen on the side instead of popping up at the bottom like before? It completely ruins the flow and just looks wrong.

One Ul used to look clean and balanced. Now it feels like a weird mix between phone Ul and desktop Ul that doesn't fit. I really hope Samsung fixes this, tablets deserve way better than this mess.

Hi Kathrin1,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback regarding One UI 8 on tablets. We understand your concerns about the changes to the Quick Panel, the layout of the Recents app/task changer, and the implementation of Circle to Search. Your observations highlight important aspects of user experience and interface consistency.

We recognize that the transition in design may not align with the expectations of long-time users who value a clean and balanced interface. Your comments regarding the shift toward a hybrid phone-desktop UI are noted, and we appreciate your perspective on how this impacts usability on tablets.

As the update has already been applied, we regret to inform you that there is currently no option to revert to the previous feature. However, we sincerely appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration for future updates.

Honestly, I can’t even explain how disappointed I am with the Tab S10 FE. I saved for over two years to finally get this tablet, and I really wanted to love it, but One UI 8 has made it nearly unusable.

I’m not trying to be rude, but these updates feel like downgrades. The UI design looks like a cheap imitation of what One UI used to stand for: clean, smart, and balanced. What’s worse is that my old Tab S6 Lite from 2020 (running One UI 6.1) feels smoother, more consistent, and far more polished than this "brand new" device.

At this point, I’ve actually switched back to my Tab S6 Lite. I reinstalled all my apps, logged in everywhere, and even moved my microSD card from the S10 FE. Why? Because at least the older tablet works properly. It’s really sad that a 2020 model feels better to use than a 2024 one.Bknvb9fErL.jpg

We sincerely regret to hear that the device has not met your expectations, especially after such a long period of anticipation and saving. Your feedback regarding the performance of One UI 8 and the overall user experience is deeply valued.

It’s concerning to learn that your previous device, the Tab S6 Lite, continues to offer a smoother and more consistent experience. We understand how frustrating it must be to feel that a newer model falls short of its predecessor in terms of usability and polish.

Your insights about the UI design and functionality are important.

Thank you again for taking the time to articulate your concerns so clearly. We hope your experience improves and that future updates address the issues you've encountered.

Tablets

ONE UI 8 just ruined my tablet. I had a perfect setup from my S7+ I carried on to my S10 Ultra with classic dex and overnight my tablet updates and EVERYTHING, literally, EVERYTHING is broken!

My custom keyboard, gone. Windows that fill half the entire screen so I can use all of the display size, GONE!

My layout, GONE!

Dex itself is ruined, its been completely gutted and works only with external monitors. Why not let people that have been using the classic dex for LITERALLY BEFORE COVID continue to have their cherished setups?

I've been a samsung product user since 2010, this is quite literally the WORST thing that samsung has ever done.

I'm considering selling my tablet on marketplace and switching to the OTHER company because I cant believe samsung just destroyed my tablet overnight.

How do you allow an update to be so drastic and BAD that it totally destroys all of the customization that a user did for their product.

Is customization not what samsung does best? Did samsung forget this?

I am furious. I have to spend HOURS to try to get a small semblance of the setup I once had, and I have a feeling I'm going to lose features either way.

The team behind ONE UI 8 should be ashamed!!!

Bring back classic DEX if you are going to push such a BROKEN software update onto people!

SHAME ON SAMSUNG!
