Hello, I just received the OneUI 7 updates for my tablet. Upon restart, I noticed that the home screen grid was different - the icons were smaller than before. My preferred home screen grid setting of 6x5 is gone, replaced with: 8x6 and 10x6.

Is this a bug, a regression, a known issue, or ...?

Hi robindp,

Thanks for bringing this up! After the One UI 7 update on the Galaxy Tab A9+, the home screen grid options were changed with 6x5 replaced by 8x6 and 10x6. This isn’t a bug, but rather a design change introduced in the update.

We understand many users prefer specific layouts, so we’ll share this feedback with the team. In the meantime, you can check Good Lock’s Home Up module (once it's compatible) for custom grid settings.

I, too, would like the ability to customize home screen grid layouts. Thanks for considering this in a future update.

4x5 is available on my Samsung phone, and it is much smaller. The 8x6 grid makes the icons very hard to see, and wastes so much real estate on the screen. When with the 4x5 grid be available for the tab A9+?

Thanks for your reply, Helenna. I found Home Up via Good Lock a few minutes after my previous reply - the application does not appear to be fully compatible, since using a custom layout causes strange zoom and alignment issues on the home screens (the Google Drive widgets runs off the screen, icons are not 'aligned' wit the screen, etc).

I will adapt to the 8x6 grid size and update my other tablet (Galaxy Tab S7 FE) to the same 8x6 setting (if possible).

One other piece of feedback - when swiping down on the A9 Plus with One UI 7 update - the interface and fonts are TINY.

Scaling issue?

I'd suggest trying Nova Launcher. It's very highly rated and works great on both phones and tablets.

Thanks for the heads up - will consider it!

Why should we have to use a third-party software? The tablet is new, and the version that I saw in the store had a reasonable grid. You could easily see the icons. Samsung should provide reasonable grid sizes!

Apparently it was done by design, so technically it is not a bug. But to the user it feels like a bug to deal with tiny icons and lost real estate on the screen.
