TabletsHi debcat,
If you’re receiving voicemail notifications via text message on your tablet and you don’t want to receive calls or related alerts, here are a few formal steps you can take to disable or limit these features:
-
Remove or Disable SIM Card (if applicable): If your tablet has cellular capabilities and a SIM card installed, it may be receiving calls and voicemail alerts like a phone. Removing the SIM card will prevent all cellular activity, including calls and SMS.
-
Disable Cellular Network Access: Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks, and turn off mobile data or set the device to Wi-Fi only mode.
-
Block Voicemail Notifications via Carrier Settings: Contact your mobile carrier and request:
-
Deactivation of voicemail service.
-
Blocking of voicemail SMS alerts.
-
Restriction of incoming calls to the tablet’s number.
-
-
Use Do Not Disturb Mode: Enable Do Not Disturb in Settings → Notifications to silence all calls and alerts. You can customize it to block calls entirely.
-
Disable Call Functionality (if using apps like Phone or Messages):
-
Uninstall or disable the Phone app if present.
-
Go to Settings → Apps → Messages, and disable notifications or permissions related to SMS.
