So I just bought a Galaxy Tab A 8" a seller told me that all the tablets have built in ability to screen cast to your TV. I also have a smart TV. I browsed the quick options and  "more device options" for the app I can't seem to find one - Also, tried using smart view but its outdated now. Can anyone help? or should I trade it in for a different tablet?

Hey @Samsung_gb1U9oX, Please try the below options.

Open Settings >> From the Wireless and networks section, tap More networks >>From the Media share section, tap Screen mirroring >> When connected, the device's screen is displayed on the TV.

You can also connect the Samsung Galaxy Tab to the TV using Chromecast. Follow the below steps.
 Plugin your Chromecast device. Plug Chromecast into your TV, then connect the USB power cable to your Chromecast
Connect your Chromecast device.
Download the Google Home app.
Set up Chromecast.
Cast content.
Hope it helps!

 @Kinsley

Yeah I tried that but the option does not even exist. Its was a false advertisement - I have it on my phone this does not.

I'd prefer not to buy chrome cast sole reason why I bought the tablet was to screen share at ease and really don't want to spend more $$.

I have some questions?...

-Have you connected your tv to the internet?
-Wired or WiFi?
-What tv model do you have?
-Is your phone connected to the same network?
-what do you mean smart view is outdated?
