Who should I contact to fix this. As the cards I have are on the  large size and if they are trashed, am I supposed to or such up the costs, or is there any chance of a fix. All of this after an update. Would have been great to a least get a warning that my 256k card was going to be trashed.  Any suggestions would be great, but it looks like the drive itself is toast. Any suggestion for a fix would be appreciated, or if there is an app to reset the drive to specs.
Great tablet, but I have little hope of a fix right now.

Hi DeanoD,

Please provide us the model number of your tablet which can be found under tablet settings.
Go to settings>> About the tablet>> Model number.

Just to confirm, is your SD card not working on the tablet, or are you unable to access the SD card data? Have you lost the SD card data after an update?

Bingo! You nailed it on the last line! Received notice of upgrade (sans any warnings) and ran it. When it rebooted, my 256k external card is to longer accessible, and the drive shows as "unavailable". I have made no attempt to remove or replace the very expensive card as of yet, hoping for a fix. Tablet is SMT860 Samsung Tab S6. Any fixes you can offer, I can do. I do have advance experience with tablets as this was the fifth out of six Samsung Tablet I have used. BTW Was NOT impressed with the S7 being released just weeks after my purchase of two the most expensive computers I have ever bought. So, I am hoping that this does not mean that my support for these Tabs would not be disappearing soon. I would have gladly upgraded to the S7, but never had that choice.
Please let me know how to fix this ASAP.

Hey DeanoD,
Please remove and reinsert the SD card on your tablet and check if it works.
Before removing the memory card, first unmount it for safe removal.
Launch the Settings app and tap Device care > Storage > Advanced > SD card > Unmount.

1. Insert the ejection pin into the hole on the tray to loosen the tray.
Note: Ensure that the ejection pin is perpendicular to the hole. Otherwise, the device may be damaged.
2. Pull the tray gently from the tray slot.
3. Place a memory card on the tray with the gold-colored contacts facing downwards.
4. Gently press the memory card into the tray to secure it.
Note: If the card is not fixed firmly into the tray, the memory card may fall out of the tray.
5. Insert the tray back into the tray slot.
Note:
• If you insert the tray into your device while the tray is wet, your device may be damaged. Always make sure the tray is dry.
• Fully insert the tray into the tray slot to prevent liquid from entering your device
