WearablesEdit: just finished a live chat with Samsung support about my issue. I'll be sending in my earbuds for repair. Hope the issue gets fixed.
My right earbud no longer connects to my phone despite having been charged overnight. The contacts are clean, the metal prongs in the case are clean, and the case battery is fully charged.
I have tried every single troubleshooting method I have found on the internet to try and fix this issue, and nothing worked. They include:
- Removing the wing and earbud tip to ensure proper charging in the case
- Resetting the earbuds through the Samsung Wear app
- Resetting the Samsung Wear app to factory default settings and reinstalling updates
- Clearing cache and data from the Bluetooth app
- Restarting my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7)
- This series of steps I found from the forums: https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearables/Ultimate-fix-to-galaxy-buds-right-left-bud-issue/td-p/...
Additionally, for 3 weeks prior to this issue my right earbud has been draining much quicker than the left earbud by around 30%. I am unsure if these issues are related.
Any help or fix to this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

WearablesFrom what I was told, repairs are covered under manufacturer warranty for 1 year so I don't think it'll cost anything. I was also sent a Fedex shipping label, so shipping should be covered as well.
I'll reply again if it does end up costing me something.

WearablesI appreciate the reply. Unfortunately, my issue is a bit different.
When I put the right earbud in the case, the LED inside the case goes from solid red to solid green after 5-15 seconds. The case is fully charged, and the earbud has a good connection to the contacts since I took off the wing tip and ear tip. Hopefully the repair center can fix whatever's wrong with my earbuds.

WearablesHey pauljarod,
As you have performed all the necessary troubleshooting steps and the issue still persist.
Then the last option would be service. As you have mentioned that you already had a conversation with our live chat support and you will be sending your earbuds for repair.
I hope it will be fixed soon. Do share your experience with us after you get your buds plus fixed.

WearablesI have the exact same problem. I have tried EVERY troubleshoot technique out there. I have even attempted to charge the earbud in my husband's earbud case, in the event there is an issue with my case. NOTHING WORKS. When I called Samsung their only suggestion was to send in for repair. However, I am now 1 month outside of the 1 year warranty and they are suggesting repair cost in excess of $100. Hmmm.....this looks like a Samsung tactic to lock in revenue. I will advocate that people stop purchasing Samsung earbuds if Samsung can't find ways to support their products. This is a well known issue based on a Google search. Samsung has to be aware and has chosen to force its customers to repurchase at a $159-$199 price tag versus backing and/or supporting their product. Apple is looking a lot more attractive these days.
