WearablesHi Teefers,
It sounds alarming that your Galaxy Watch 4 is making unintended emergency calls! This can sometimes happen if the watch detects what it interprets as a fall or emergency event. Please try the below steps to resolve this and prevent future erroneous calls:
Check Fall Detection Settings: Go to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone and open Watch Settings > Advanced Features > SOS. Here, you’ll find the fall detection settings. You may want to adjust the sensitivity or turn it off entirely if you think it’s causing false alarms.
Disable Auto-call for SOS: In the same SOS settings menu, check if Auto call with SOS is enabled. If this feature is turned on, the watch will automatically dial 911 if it detects an emergency. Disabling this option can help prevent accidental calls while still allowing you to manually trigger SOS if needed.
Please make sure your Galaxy Watch 4 has the latest software update, as some updates include improvements for fall detection and other SOS-related features. To check, go to Galaxy Wearable > Watch Settings > Watch Software Update.
Adjust Strap Fit: A loose fit can sometimes lead to unintended touches or actions, especially if the watch moves around during activities. Ensure your watch is snug but comfortable.
Clearing the Galaxy Wearable app’s cache on your phone can resolve unusual behaviors. Go to Settings > Apps > Galaxy Wearable > Storage > Clear Cache.
Thank you.
