I can wireless connect a S23 to my car and it works perfectly. However, a A14 5G takes multiple tries by selecting the phone in phone projection on the car screen. Once connected it stays connected and works fine but when getting back in car, it doesn't auto-connect, like the S23. Have to go through the multiple tries of selecting the phone in phone projection on the car screen. One thing I noticed is, if, after a failed wireless connect attempt, I toggle Bluetooth off and on the phone usually jumps right into Android Auto.
Shouldn't it be expected that the A14 5G should connect just the same as another Samsung phone, like the S23?
In case it helps. My phone has AA version 13.5.650204-release and baseband version A146WVLS8DXI1
I have 2 A14 5G phones that act the same way. Could there be a bug in the software?

Hi,

We are sorry to hear this buggy experience with the Galaxy A14 5G and its difficulty auto-connecting to Android Auto compared to the S23.

The baseband version or the current Android Auto app version may have specific compatibility issues with your car's system.

The A14's Bluetooth module may handle reconnections less efficiently than the S23. Please try the below troubleshooting steps which might help you to resolve the issue.

Clear Bluetooth and Android Auto Data: Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Apps > Bluetooth > Storage > Clear Cache and Clear Data.

Android Auto: Go to Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Storage > Clear Cache and Clear Data.

Forget and Re-pair the Device: In the car's system, delete the saved connection for the A14 5G. On your phone, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, forget the car, and reconnect.

Reset Network Settings on the A14 5G: Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Reconnect to your car after the reset.

If the problem persists, submit a bug report via the Samsung Members app:

Open Samsung Members > Get Help > Error Reports.

Hopefully, it will be addressed in future updates.

Thank you.

Thanks for reply. I did the bug report thing at Samsung members>Get help since last April. Did all the things you listed for them, multiple times. Even factory reset the phones a few times. Two of the cheapest Chinese phones connect by wireless to AA just as good as the S23. Very dissapointing and frustrating to use the A14 5G phones in the car. I'm convinced it's a software bug but how will it ever get fixed if those that write the software don't get told about it. If the A14 5G was not compatible with the car, it would never be able to connect by wireless.

Today, I got in the car, toggled both wifi and Bluetooth off and on, boom, Kona screen jumped right in to Android auto, just like it is supposed to...there is definitely something wrong in the programming on these A14 5G phones. Can you inform the developers of the issue?

I spent months going back and forth, troubleshooting. How can I be sure that the information was passed up the line to Samsung's software people for review.

You can't. It's just words and there had never been someone from Samsung provide proof of what they say.

I had no idea how Android auto was supposed to run, until I hooked up the cheap Chinese phones.
How many others have the same problem with their A14 5G phones and went away, gave up when told, it's not compatible. How many customers would potentially be helped if Samsung fixed the Android Auto wireless connect problem.
I have 2 A14 5G phones with this problem, can't be a coincidence.

I made a discovery, after I start the car, I don't touch phone projection on the Kona infotainment system. Instead I simply turn off Bluetooth in the A14 5G for 3-5 seconds, when I turn it back on Android Auto pops up on the Kona screen without further intervention. Something is off in the A14 5G programming VS the Galaxy S23 (It just works).
Still not wireless Android Auto connecting like our other phones, S23 and 2 cheap Chinese phones but better. Still an annoyance, but better.
You would think Samsung would take some pride and want to fix this issue, rather than claiming "might not compattible". Easy way out.
I've wasted so much time messing with support on trying to get the issue fixed, since April 2024. I followed every recommendation, Cache clears, reinstalling the phones in the Kona, Network reset, Factory reset multiple times.
We have 3 Samsung phones, a Samsung Tab tablet, 4 Samsung TVs, 2 Samsung Home Theater Systems and 3 Samsung heat pumps. Don't think there will be anymore Samsung products in our families future and it seems that nobody cares.

My A14 5G connects fine generally, but what it doesn't do is work with the voice commands in my Subaru BRZ. I thought maybe it was some update that Subaru did so I got my old Moto E6 and that still works fine. When I try to do any voice command function, like giving google maps a location or call so-and-so, it says voice command not working or whatever. I can tell the phone directly the location and then connect it and it works, just can't speak any commands. Huge loss in functionality while driving. Any fix anyone knows of?

I have a Samsung A15 Galaxy just bought and it works fine, no problem connecting with my car screen. My car is a Toyota Corolla CE 2020
But, I would like to connect Android Auto with my screen in my car. But Android Auto can't find car screen. Tried with Bluetooth, no connection, tried with cellphone cable, no connection. I have check with Toyota, since my car his more than 4 years old, the Multimedia software Entune is no more available. The issue is the USB cable that came with the Cell phone, it seams it is compatible with the car screen although the insertion on both end fit in correctly. Could please tell me how I can solve this problem. Thank you for your support. Marcel Vaive
