Hello
I am facing an issue with my Samsung Galaxy A20 where I can't transfer files between it and my computer. The computer doesn't recognize it as a portable device because for some reason the option to choose the type of USB connection (charging/file transfer/MIDI) doesn't show up on the phone.
I have tried reinstalling the official Samsung android driver, factory resetting my phone, changing the USB cable, changing the USB protocol (using *#0808#) and rebooting the phone but none have worked.
I wonder if anyone else has had this problem and would appreciate any help.

Thanks 😊

Hi, just to confirm have you tried to connect the phone to different PC and check if it works?

Hi, I know this is an old post, but were you able to fix this issue? This is exactly my problem right now, and I feel like I've done everything...🥲

If it's a Windows computer, you could try downloading & Installing Samsung's USB Drivers to you computer, enable USB Debugging on your phone. You need to "Allow" The connection to your computer when you see the popup on your phone.

See if that works for you.

I installed Samsung USB Driver, but the device itself does not show on device manager so idk where to put the driver. I also installed Smartswitch bc I heard that could install the device drivers, but still nada.

I enabled USB debugging on my phone, but don't get the popup at all either. Weird, bc I'm sure it used to work.

It isn't the cable or ports either bc I tried connecting my tablet, and that works fine... I'm at a loss. Just spent an hour cleaning my phone port with a brush too😓

Well the USB Drivers are just installed on the computer, not on your phone. (if I understand when you said you weren't sure where to put them?).

Did you try using Samsung's Members Diagnostics to see if you get any error messages when testing the USB Charging Port?

As for the "Allow" I should have mentioned that you'll see that prompt when you go to run adb.

If you install Platform-Tools on your computer, and run the adb command:

adb/devices

That's adb verifying that your phone is connected to the computer, and if recognized, you will see the device listed on your computer.
